Sharp TV model 27E-S100 TV (27") keeps turning off after about 5mins. of playing. Must unplug bofort it will restart. Afthe that I may play an hour but will cut off again. Sometimes you can hear a clicking sound after it cuts off. I suspect the power supply. Can I fix it. Is it worth it? I love this set. Had for ten years now. Great color.
Problem is about two weeks old.

On the back of this power supply, Theres a red switch with the numbers, 115 and 230. depending on which way it was switched on. Can someone please explain to me what this is?

Hi inforis,
That is a setting that will change the voltages, and you do not want to flip that switch. If you do there is a chance you will fry your computer. Different countries use different voltages. It's cheaper to make a switch & some circuits inside the PSU than make a whole new one. List of countries with frequency & voltage (http://www2u.biglobe.ne.jp/~INTECS/WorldVoltage.htm)
Hope that answers you question well enough.

Change operating system from Spanish to English

Im assuming that the question is the operating system, commands, etc are all in spanish. You did not specify your operating system so unsure about what version or manufacturer. The instructions below will work for Vista... similar instructions can be done in XP and Win 7.

Graphics Cards causes computer to not display

Hi there.
I'm working on the assumption that the graphics card is a PCI Express card.
Remember that if you are swapping from on-board graphics to a card you have to go into the BIOS and tell the machine that the primary graphics adapter is AGP/PCI Express.
Plug the VGA cable into the on-board graphics port, start the computer and enter the BIOS, tell the computer to use the AGP/PCI card as primary, press F10, save the changes and exit the bios.
The computer will try and restart so let it boot to post and turn it off, then put in your card and try to boot again.
Please post back if you need more help or advice.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

MY SONY LAPTOP WONT BOOT

Hi,

The flashing amber light means the screen is in power save mode. Since you are not seeing a "No Video Signal" things are looking up.

You want to use the menu buttons on your screen to navigate through and locate the power save time out settings. Its best to set it for 'never'.

If that makes the change a fix, let me know, I'll guide you through the settings on your desktop display to control the display time out.

Regards,
Worldvet
