    Hello Benimur,

Tried a few times, but with no succes yet. Suspecting that some part of the broken doorlocker is perhaps blocking the open/close system. But very difficult to see, because I cannot fully loosen the locksystem, because of rubber band..

I understand, if it would seem that you can work on the screws with the rubber gasket in place, perhaps you can slightly part them away using any tool/object just to slightly pry away.

if that doesn't work then that leaves us no choice but to remove the rubber gasket even halfway to allow you space to work the lock.

incidentally, you can also try using a small magnet to pick up any broken parts of the old lock. A can of compressed air can also help dislodge any small bits of the broken lock out of potion to clear the latching mechanism.

In some versions, there may be a plastic clip clamping the seal on the outside and a metal spring like lock holding it tight on the inside.

and if it looks like that difficult to remove, it would be definitely more difficult to put back.

GLTF1240ASO Front Door Won't Lock/Close

Most probably your door lock is damaged. You are not supposed to force it open, you have to wait for at least 2 minutes (or till the lock sign is off) after the wash is over to open the door, never force it.
You can just google your model number and search for parts to obtain it. It is quite possible you can change it yourself. See that the line is disconnected from the mains.

Try some WD40 spray on the door and lock. Just a bit. Try closing and opening the door. The machine should be in the <off> position.

AEG washing machine error code e40

E40 relates to the door being left open when the programme is started, it maybe that the latch was not pushed over when the door was shut. After the door is closed again the fault should go away. If it does not and you hear alot of clicking from the door lock you may just have a door lock at fault.Code E40 is door not closed, could be a mis-aligned door or faulty door switch.-------------But if door is closing properly and you are confirmed that door is getting properly locked, then other possibility can be gunked filter or blocked drain pump.It requires cleaning internally. The procedure is as follows:--- Towards the bottom right of the machine is a pull-down flap.
Drain the machine - there's a tube at the bottom of the machine
with a plastic plug - you'll see a butterfly handle, pull hard; the plug
is a round ball on the end of a stick.
Unscrew the large diameter thing (pump cover) -
Don't do this before the drain step!!!
Withdraw the filter cylinder and remove any gunge - the
filter port has two ports - the left one is the impellor
pump and the right one is the discharge pipe; feel to ensure
these are not gunged up either.
Reassemble in reverse order - as Haynes say.
Almost every programme necessitates a pump activation to
assure that the machine is empty of water .-----------

Please, I want to Know, how ti change the rubber door seal? thank you.

Hello there
Disconnect all power to the machine first!!
1 Locate the outer clamp band securing the seal to the door rim on the washing machine and examine it carefully for holes or tears. Many can be prised off with a flat-bladed screwdriver they have a spring system holding them, but some have a tensioning arrangement that has to be loosened.
2 After removing the outer clamp band, locate the inner one securing the seal to the drum and establish how this is secured. It may be necessary to loosen a clip, or you may be able to prise the band off with a flat-bladed screwdriver. Some are like very large Jubilee clips that you have to undo usually from the top.
3 Once the clamp bands have been removed, use both hands to pull the seal away from the inner drum rim. Some AEG machines have a water spout holes that will have to be lined up. Others have a drain holes.
4 Rubbing a drop of washing up liquid into the groove on the AEG door seal/gasket that locates on the drum makes fitting the new seal easier.
5 Your new AEG washing machine door seal should be fitted by locating the drain holes at the bottom of the seal first then push it on with both hands working opposite directions towards the top. This is quite hard if you have never done it before.
6 Refit the inner band remembering this must be tensioned correctly for it to be water tight.
7 now fit the outer band and the test your AEG machine for any leaks,

I
