Dyson DC07 - broken 'Contact Head' release clip

My Dyson DC07 has a broken release clip (spring loaded) that fastens the Contact Head to the wand. I have a spare rotating brush nozzle, that I never use, and would like to swap the clips over. As I don't want to break the head in the process, what is the method of disassembly to gain access to the clips?

Dyson DC25 -wand extension lost a spring and becomes disconnected during use. I don't know where spring should be?

The button you push to release the wand has a spring to allow it to spring back after the button has been released. If that spring is missing the wand will not stay attached.

The clip inside the hose for holding the tube (small yellow spring clip) is broken or needs anew one

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07. If the wand release button on the hose cuff has broken, the hose assembly will require replacement. If you wish to order a new hose assembly, you can do so by visiting www.dyson.com and clicking on 'Spares'. Alternatively, if you'd like to order by phone, you can get in touch with us directly by calling free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07 Animal. From what you've described, it sounds as if the wand has been replaced on the cleaner without the hose being retracted. To remove the wand from the machine, hold the cleaner securely in place by placing one foot on the cleaner head, then pull the wand up forcefully whilst holding the purple quick-draw hose release (located above the on/off switch) down. Make sure you are not leaning over the top of the wand as you do this.

Once you've freed the wand from the cleaner, make sure you retract the wand before replacing it on the cleaner again. Hold down the hose release button on the hose cuff as you retract the wand inside the hose.

You might find it useful to refer to the user guide supplied with the cleaner - in case you don't have this to hand, you can download a copy here:

This is embarassing, but I have just looked at the Dyson DC07 manual and at my Dyson for about 20 minutes, and I can't for the life of me find the wand release button on my actual Dyson.....the manual...

Hi the wand release button is located directly above the the Cylinder release button. The wand release button looks like the picture below. In order to releease the wand you must firstly make sure the Electrical cable is not wrapped up for storage. So unwrap the electrical cable. then find the item as in the picture. Press this button in and at the same time lift the wand. This will realease the wand from the spine of the Dyson. dumfriesdon.jpg

THE HOSE ON OUR DYSON ANIMAL UPRIGHT HAS LOST SUCTION-HOW DO WE CLEAN IT OUT ?

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

You would need to release the wand/hose assembly from the machine then slide the hose right to the bottom of the wand and press the release catch to disconnect from the wand. Then at the base of the hose you shoudl be able to un-clip the hose to remove it completely from the machine.

Full details on how to check your amchine for blockages, can be found in the Support section on our website at www.dyson.com.

Dyson DC-07 Hose Wand Spring Came Out. How to put back in?

You'll see that there is a round piece with a cross shape on the inside of the button wand release button - place the end of the spring over the cross - you'll see the same cross on the collar of the machine...it'll take some doing, but line the other end of the spring up with the cross and pop the button back into place - be sure to click it onto those two gray circular/oval shaped divets at the bottom where the release button connects to so that the button stays in place.
