Question about Creative Labs Zen Micro MP3 Player

Recovery mode well its stuck on recovery mode and now i dont know how to get it off there is no reset button im just rebooting it

    stuck in recovery menu. Unable to format harddisk with error 'harddisk error'. unable to do anything with the micro.

To reset this player -- take out the battery and put back again.
In the recovery mode do the following: format the HD, clean the firmware. If those two go smoothly, go to creative.com and download the firmware, connect player to PC(still in recovery mode) and run the downloaded firmware.

Dell DJ 30 gig is stuck on recovery mode. Already tried pin hole reset. I don't mind wiping all the music of I just want it to work again


Assuming you simply pushed the reset, you will get only a reboot back to whatever problem you already had. If you hold the play/pause button while briefly pushing the reset, it should boot to the recovery screen. Then try selecting cleanup, then reboot after it finishes.
If its now ok, then great. If not, then do the hold play and reset again, this time selecting format. This WILL wipe all your songs, but may just let it work again afterwards. Worth a try....

Zen stuck in recovery mode, reboot failed, firmware recovery tool downloaded and updated, reset button failed, last time this happend we had to wipe it totally off and start over, much time...


You can reset your zen by placing the pen head in the hole below the power button for 20 seconds.


Or


Attempt to slide the switch like you are shutting it down and then use a pin to reset the mode. By doing so all song could be washed out

Creative Zen Touch stuck in "recovery mode"


Hi! I think you should try this (i've already tried it and it works):
1- Unplug your Zen from your Computer.
2-Turn off your Zen (if you can't do it, press the "Reset" button)
3- BEFORE turning on your Zen, press your "Play" button and hold it while you turn on.
4-When a format menu appears, select the "Format All" option (you'll loose all your Zen data).
5-When the format menu reapears, select the "Reboot" option and listo! You have your Zen as new and should not have problem. Good luck!

Have you tried to load the firmware? First you'll need to download the firmware to your PC from Creative's website: Click here. After you've downloaded it, connect your Zen via USB to your PC and open the firmware icon, then click "Upgrade."

Recovery mode


If your Zen is in recovery mode, simply reboot it, and it should go back to its normal screen.

However, if you reboot it and it goes back into recovery mode again, that means there is some problem with your Zen--likely a hardware failure. It will need to be checked out by a technician.

Still Stuck in Recovery Mode.


Recovery mode:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

hard disk is bad.
can you format?
  1. Detach the Zen player from your PC , and ensure that the Zen Sleek is turned off.
2. Connect the power supply to the player.
3. Hold down the Play/Pause button while inserting a paper clip into the Reset hole
underneath your player, beside the data/power connector. Keep on holding the
Play/Pause button while you release the Reset button. The Rescue Mode screen will
then appear.
4. After the recovery mode has started, release the Play/Pause button

It will display the following options.
Clean Up Scans the player and removes invalid links from its music library.
Does not affect music files themselves.
Format (All) Caution! Erases all content!
Save a copy of your player's content before formatting.
Reload OS/ Firmware Caution! Erases your player's firmware.
DO NOT select the Reload Firmware option unless you have access to a PC and you have downloaded the necessary firmware to install.
Reboot Reboots the device.
