Here's a website that sells the projectors and such, so you should be able to find exactly what you are wanting and within your budget as well.

You'll need to know the specs on your screen, so you make sure that you fit the projector to the room dimensions and the screen size. You don't want to have it so that it only fills half the screen at optimum resolution or that it is 20% too big for the screen at optimum resolution either.

Make sure you pay attention to where the unit can be mounted as well, so you don't get stuck with one that has to be rear mounted and you have to have it mounted on the wall behind your seating.

Hope this helps you.

When i plug in hd cable screen is distorted

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung, JVC, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Akai, Pioneer, Hitachi, Zenith, and others. You can get a convergenece repair kit from the link below.

Common Symptoms include....
  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on - TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some photos of convergence problems.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a solution

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses.
This is a a fairly easy DIY job if you know what you are doing. If you have never done this before we would advise calling a shop or if you want to do it yourself get a complete kit with instructions and support from www.TvRepairKits.com

You bulbs are fine. You have a very common problem, your convergence circuit was going bad and now it has shorted all the way and the tv is going into shut down. You most likly need you STK's changed and possible some resistors. If you have a repair man do this for you it could run $300-$500. If you know how to solder and use a meter it can be done for under $100. Let me know if you need more help.

Thanks
