You will need a low profile dvd. Do you want a part and vendor?

    Hi,

    This appears to be the only low profile slim DVD writer I could find.
    Here is the link.

    You will have to use their contact us link to ask them and find out where to buy one. They don't appear to have an online store.

    Regards,

Where are computer settings on a Lenova desktop computer?

Could you please provide a little more info? What is the operation system you're running (ie, Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, Linux, etc), what settings are you looking for (BIOS settings (for example, maybe you want to change the default boot device from a hard drive to a DVD drive so the computer tries to boot off the DVD drive first), power saving settings, device settings, windows update settings), etc. Also, perhaps the model number of the Lenova would help depending on what settings you're actually looking for.

My medion computer has 2 hard drives and on boot up i get reset port error on both drives only the dvd rom shows up please help. thanks

Your drives might be conflicting. Make sure you place their jumpers right, one jumper on master and the other on slave. They could be causing conflict.

I am looking for a hp lightscribe dvd supermulti drive/cd writer that is compatable with a hp pavilion a720n desk top computer and all so a dvd/cd rom combo that is compatable with ...

Any brand-new CD/DVD reader/writer with LightScribe *WILL* be compatible with your HP.
Check whether your "power" and "data" cables are the "old" style (white power connector and a 80-pin ribbon-cable) or the "new" style (thin SATA cables), before you buy a writer with the "wrong" (PATA versus SATA) interface.

Replacing my dvd burner

Not a problem. If you are replacing a drive, be sure it has the same interface, IDE, EIDE, etc

Google the specs on your current drive (take it out and get the manufacturer and model). In addition to EBay, it may be worth looking at www.nextag.com great proce comparison site and great vendors. I start all and finish most of my hardware shopping there.

Brands are important. Pioneer, Sony.. make sure it is reputable. a few extra $$$ goes a long way.

Hope this helps. Please rate and comment if it does.

Thanks,

Omar W.

CD/DVD Drive will not read cd cd/rw or dvd/rw's

Goto the web site of the company that makes the writer and reinstall or update the internal Firmware for that model of writer.

Has anyone successfully deleted ''upper filters'' to repair cd dvd drive code 39 without affecting pc?

to deleted filters follows this instruction:
1) Close all open programs
2) Click on Start, Run, and type REGEDIT and press Enter
3) Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

* HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
* SYSTEM
* CurrentControlSet
* Control
* Class
* {4D36E965-E325-11CE-
BFC1-08002BE10318}

4) This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

* UpperFilters
* LowerFilters
* UpperFilters.bak
* LowerFilters.bak

5) If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete
6) After deleting the keys, close the Registry Editor
7) Reboot your computer
8) Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone

and to repair upper filters follow these belows
right click my computer, click on properties. under hardware click device manager. look for dvd/cd rom drives if the drive is there try disabling and enable it afterwards. if nothing is listed try scanning for hardware changes if it detects the device it will install it automatically. if that does not work check your connections to that device. good luck."

I have failed to copy pictures on my Sony 48x/24x/48x/16x DVD Rom. The system says there is no disc. I am using TDK DVD-R 1-16x speed 4.7 GB single sided.

Hey,

looking at the details you have posted about your cd drive, its a cd burner with dvd reading cability.

can you post me the model of your drive to confirm this, it says on top of the drive, maybe on the front.

or simply try a CD instead of a DVD

Thanks,
Ekse
