I'm having a problem receving text messages in my samsung exclaim. But the alert and red light would still flash and make sounds. So how do I fix my text messaging problem?.

I had the same problem. It didn't happen with every text message, but with many of them. At first I would shut my phone off and then turn it back on and I would receive the texts that I had missed. Then I reset my phone "back to default" and that seemed to fix it permanently. To do so, enter the settings menu, go to the "more..." option, go into the security settings... you will need your 4 digit code to get in, if you haven't changed it then it should be the last 4 digits of your phone number. from there go into Erase/Reset, then "default settings. Don't hit "reset phone" or you'll lose all your data (ringers, games etc), This should work if it doesn't, then try hitting the "reset phone" option but beware you will lose your data AND your contacts so back them up somehow. Hope this helps...

Changing defaults

1) When you type the text using the keypad(screen), press 'Abc' and select 'T9 Abc'. That will solve your first problem.
2) You cannot do that by default. Everytime you need to move the messages using the option 'Move to Phone'.
3) Unfortunately they have not given the direct option. First you need to move the message to phone using the option 'Move to Phone' and again do 'Move to folders' on the same message and choose the folder.

How do I use lower case letters in a text?

If your Tracfone has an uparrow on the zero (0) key, after entering a character, IMMEDIATELY hit the 0 key.  The phone will change the case of the previously entered character AND change case for subsequent entries.
If you're too slow typing the 0 key, you'll get the characters assigned (0, +, etc.) to that key.

SEtup t9 texting

When in Text mode, press the # button. With each press, you will see the 'Abc' on the screen changing. When you see the 'Abc' with a small book by it, then you are in T9 texting mode.

Quick Notes

This can sometimes depend on your phone. You can often go to your settings to change this. Once in your settings go down to messaging. Once in the messaging tab there should be an option that says text entry. There you can change your entry back to ABC mode.

HOW DO I TURN OFF PREDICTIVE TEXT

First, hit the 'Message' button in the upper-left -hand corner. Select 'New Message'. Select 'New Short Msg'. An empty screen for inserting text will now be displayed. At this point press the top middle button (the one with the line on it like this -). Now the 'Message Menu' should be displayed. Scroll down to 'Entry Setup' & select it. Press the 'Change' button in the upper-right-hand corner when 'Primary Setup' is highlighted. Scroll down to 'TAP English' and select it. Now you are done. ('I TAP English is the setting for predivtive'. 'TAP English is the setting for manual').

Text message saving

Sounds like a software issue, good luck with that, if its warrantied, take it in.

Make sure you diidnt hit the Symbol key twice in a row, that tends to lock it in place, allthough if that was the case then you would be getting symble all the time.
