If you have purchased a new battery for your laptop because the old one also refused to charge, the problem is likely the connection inside the laptop where the battery connects to the machine itself. Correcting this issue would mean some serious work, and I would not advise that you do this yourself, as it is easy to cause more problems while trying to correct that one. Your best option is to take it in and have it serviced by a professional, or at the very least have your new battery tested to see if it is simply defective. I wish I could give you a 'do it yourself' answer to this, but to try fixing the connection pins yourself would mean taking your laptop apart, and with the compact nature of laptops, there is a lot of room for error when disassembling it - you could end up needing a whole new laptop with just the slightest mistake.
