Can't really tell what kind of monitor you have there but, if you have a + and - button on the front of it try pushing both of them at the same time to reset it.

Most monitors have adjustments for contrast/brightness, display position, display height and width, and one called pincushion. The last one changes the flatness or curvature of the edge of the display:

My monitor screen is a bright green color

Please check all the pins at both end of the VGA cable, also try it on another PC also since the problem can be in the video card. We need to narrow dow the problem first.

Cannot adjust the brightness and the contrast

Ali Bhai

Thank you for your query

To rule out vga card issue, please can you try plugging the monitor into another PC, if it works in there then it is your vga card at fault and this will need to be replaced.

I f however the moniotr does not improve then im afraid your monitor is faulty, when the monitors go dim it is genrally the inverters that are faulty

Please book the monitor in for repair/replacement

If this has been useful please leave positive feedback/vote/testimonial as this will help me greatly - Thank you again

Brightness automatically going low when the brightness is at 100

hello, please make sure the magicbrite option is not set to "dynamic contrast" as this will change the contrast levels by itself, change the settings by pressing the down arrow touch key on the monitor, change it to any other setting, game mode is blinding on my one (when the monitor works, but thats another story!!!) good luck with samsung customer care centre 0870SAMSUNG (uk)

So simple, but yet.....how do I move the cursors to increase contrast

there is sometimes a subtle change in highlight when you have selected the brightness (or any manual change menu selection) you should then be able to make changes to the selection via the up or down buttons on the monitor

Changed graphics card-then disabled the monitor by accident, now black screen. Not even safe mode works now!

That's pretty funny (apart from the suffering)! It's doing exactly what you asked and displaying nothing to that monitor. Even if you safe-boot, the VGA thing might try to honor the setting (though it shouldn't if you have WinXP SP3.)
Booting to a command prompt 'only' from the safe boot choices and importing some regedit settings from another machine's video might just do the trick. (As well might adding a 2nd monitor on some machine and seeing what changes in the registry using a monitor program for that.... Some 'display' key probably contains 'disabled 1' instead of 'disabled 0'.... )

If you can get a LiveCD or bootable USB key of any sort (WinXP, Knoppix, Kevin's Rescue CD, etc.) you can probably just enjoy graphics settings by booting to that, and edit the registry or use WINCONFIG a little more freely than Safe Boot offers.

I have an emachine 17" Flat Panel Monitor and I accidently touched the Standby Mode on my keyboard and now my menu won't work right. I can't adjust the color enough. If there is anything I can do to fix my problem it would be appreciated.

Thanks
