Samsung monitor problem

Did you get your monitor to work? I have the same problem.

I did get the monitor to work, I had to get a heavier gage cable than what came with the monitor. Then it worked. I don't know if it was just a bad cable or if it was too light weight. But before buying yet another graphic card I bought a new cable (heavier) and haven't had a problem since.

This problem appears to have been solved a year ago, but is still showing up as an open problem.

If you're using Safari, go to the Appearance Preference area and choose one of the "Western" encodings. The top one is likely the best. (Latin?)

Samsung monitor menu controls (contrast & brightness) inoperable

You're not supposed to be able to use the mouse to adjust these settings. These settings can only be adjusted from the buttons on the monitor!

Please read the user manual for your monitor for exact instructions.

G4 boots, but no video; blank screen.

I think you should either try another monitor or take your G4 to a friend or neighbors house with a working monitor, and plug it in to see if it is your monitor that is dead.

No monitor works on my G4 Power Mac

If no monitor works on your Mac, but the machine is booting, the only assumption I can draw from this is a faulty display card.
Try another display card and see if this helps.
