Online Flashing - Scanning for a network connection.
On - Startup process complete. Modem aqcuired.

This means that your modem is not locked onto your cable providers network

If all the lights are on, then you are online, but windows doesnot know it. go to internet explorer, then access tools, look for options, then look for connections. in the bottom you will see LAN settings. go to this and click automatically detect settings. if this does not work, then i cannot think at the moment, but will keep thinking. just got up, got a party to set up and no time to chat.

My modem keeps going to standby mode

That is usually a problem with signal levels or the modem isn't set properlly. I don't know who your provider is but you should get hold of them and get them to fix it. They should send a tech out to check your signal. While they can check the modem remotely it does not provide them with the same information that a onsite check does. There is nothing you can check or change as a end user.

This can be signal levels, or signal quality (noise), or bad cableing and so on.

Problems with Motorola Surf SB5100

Have you tried unplugging the modem's power cord for at least a couple of minutes? If that doesn't work, have you called your ISP? The problem could be anything from a billing issue to an outage in your area, to a modem that needs to be replaced. Your internet service provider would be the best place to (try to) find help.

My modem keeps losing internet connection

Update your drivers and then do a speed test. Most isp send updates to the subscribers when they update, yours may not. Don't forget to check all of your connections before wasting time calling your isp. I trust this test the most. Rember you don't always get what you pay for.

Motorola SB5100 help. Online light won't come on.

I work for a cable company. If Power, Recieve and Send lights are all solid and the only one that is blinking is online on these modems it means that the unit is not provisioned properly by your ISP or the device is malfunctioning. You will need to call your ISP and tell them this and they should be able to help you out pretty easily. You may also try unplugging the device and letting it sit for 5 min. and plug it back in.

Hope this helps.

Recieve and Send lights blinking

Are you unable to connect? The send and rcv lights should be blinking. Make sure that your link light is on and not blinking. Your link light is your connection to your ISP
