Sansa c150 MP3 player hung

Hi I got this sansa mp3 player as a gift last november. Last month, when I was listening to a song, this player hung. I read some articles posted in this site & tried to update the firmware, but it failed. This is the exe file that I downloaded. c100_1.0.005a_FirmwareUtility

Still I am not able to fix this. Can you please help me to fix this?

I had my sandisk c150 hooked up at the same time I had a flash drive, I unplugged the c150 and it froze on one screen and will not power down unless you take out the battery. When I hook up to my laptop it does not recognize the player. Thanx for your help

My player is also stuck on a single screen.
The computer doesn't detect it even using scan hardware.
Its like the internal fw is just hung. Soon I'll use a hammer access method and see if there is an internal reset button.

I spent hours last night trying to solve this same issue.
Becuase the problem is SO common, and the information is so scattered, I decided to write up my discoveries on a wiki

Hope this helps!

hi,
your sansa m259 mp3 player does not support playing video songs(.wmv).You can listen to the following supported audio files only (.wma or .mp3) in your player. If you want to listen to video songs, try finding the software which converts video files to audio files, convert them and you can listen. Google it up to find numerous software.Hope you are clear now. Please rate my solution as helpful.

I know its a silly question but can anyone please tell me the step-by-step process to transfer songs to my sansa c150 MP3 player......... Thanks

  • Step 1:Free a USB port on your desktop computer. Now, grab the USB cable for your SanDisk Sansa MP3 player and connect the player to your computer.
  • Step 2:Wait for your computer to find and recognize the player. This may take a few moments. Once you receive a confirmation message, open your computer and scan the icons for the SanDisk MP3 player.
  • Step 3:Open the SanDisk Sansa MP3 player on your computer. The music files that you currently have saved to the player’s memory are displayed.
  • Step 4:Open a folder containing music files that is stored in your desktop computer’s memory. Scan the files for songs that you want to transfer to the SanDisk Sansa MP3 player.
  • Step 5:Left-click on a song file and drag to the SanDisk Sansa window. Drop the file and let your computer complete the transfer. The transferred file appears at the bottom of your music list.
  • Step 6:Unplug your SanDisk Sansa player from your computer. Turn the player on and allow the file transfer to update to the internal memory of the MP3 player.
Tips & Warnings
  • When properly connected, the SanDisk Sansa MP3 player displays a USB Connected message on its LCD screen.
  • The music files in the SanDisk Sansa MP3 player will have different icons next to their filenames which will tell the file type at a glance (MPEG, MPEG layer 3 or WMA, for example).
  • Some songs feature copyright protection which may interfere with your ability to transfer music to the SanDisk Sansa MP3 player.
