I have 1gb ddr2 ram 180gb sata hard disk amd dual core proccer i having face problam hang pc startup. slow pc many time & hang use window xp3 please help me.

Goto BIOS of your computer and enable " QUICK BOOT" it will solve your problem. Plus i would personally recommend you to Format your C:\ Drive and reinstall windows (Windows XP SP2 is the best option for fast performance). After you install Windows i would also recommend you to Install any Anti-Virus and Scan your computer for viruses.

Thank you!

Blue screen of Death ?

These are the steps that you need to take, and the instructions on how to do it:
1. Reboot into Safemode
2. Run a virus and spyware scanner
3. Defrag
4. Scandisk
5. Registry error repairing
6.Reboot into regular mode windows

Here is how to do it:
Reboot yor machine while holding the F8 key right as it boots back up. A menu will apear. Choose -->"start windows in safe mode with networking".
Windows will start in safe mode. Run an AVG virus scan, then run Defrag by exploring your computer, right click on C: drive, click PROPERTIES, then the TOOLS tab, click the "check now" button, and only checkmark the top box 'fix file system errors', then click ok, the computer will then tell you it will scan upon next reboot., Now click the DEFRAG NOW button. the choose defrag. After Defrag runs for about an hour and it is finished, restart the system. If is still won't run normally, go back into Safemode buy pressing F8 on reboot, then run a registry fixing program such as uniblue registrybooster, then reboot again. If it still won't run right, you may want to reinstall Windows and see if that works.
PRINT THESE INSTRUCTIONS AND KEEP A COPY NEAR YOUR SYSTEM FOR FUTURE PROBLEMS. THIS SERIES OF STEPS CAN FIX MANY PROBLEMS
Good luck.
James.

My computer is very slow. I have Compaq with windows xp.

the first thing to check is your hard drive defrag it, then the startup process, then software that you do not need or use and finally run some anti spyware/virus software.

My computer runs soooooooooooo slowly and it's starting to develop weird quirks. For example, I cannot click on a Word document I have saved previously in order to open it; it will not do anything. I...

There are many things that you can do to help. The first thing is defragmenting the hard drive. The second is (if Vista or Windows 7) set your windows defender to scan at a different time than your virus software (this does not apply to Windows XP). The third is cleaning out the cookies folder. Cookies will continue to build up in a computer to a point where it will diminish the performance of the computer. The next thing is to do a disk clean up. Then the last thing to do is go to http://www.bitdefender.com/scanner/online/free.html and do a free scan. This will make sure your virus software has not missed a potential virus threat. If it finds a virus that your virus software has missed, you might consider uninstalling it and using something like Avast or AVG or both together (both free versions). These are just a few simple things to go through.

When I doubleclick on 'my computer' icon, window freezes

Make sure you do not have virus? sounds like virus freezing your windows applications. Scan your computer if there is nothing, reload windows, seems you installed corrupted version or cd.

Thanks for using Fixya

MY COMPUTER IS SLOW

Greetings my friend, regarding on your problem try to see if you have installed and update an anti virus software in your computer/Laptop then if is it installed then run the anti virus and scan and clean all your drives in your computer otherwise install and update your anti virus software. Also try to check also the files that you have stored in your drives. Delete those files in the recycle bin. Also defrage your drives. If you are using Windows XP then follow this: To defrage your drives go to start button then all programs then accessories then system tools and then click Disk Defragment. then follow the steps given by the computer. Reasons why our computer/Laptop runs slow cause of some viruses/worms and overcrowded files particularly picture and music files. Also too much program installed in your computer/Laptop. Need to have a good management systems in your computer to maintain your desire accuracy and speed of your computer/Laptop.
