Have had the hp pavillio dv6000 since xmas. Have had no problems until now. There is a blank screen with a blue hue to it and it appears that the computer will not shut down. There is no picture no sound not responding to any buttons pushed.

At this point the only thing you can do is just unplug the power if their is not off button on the computer power supply. Then reboot the system to see if is working or not.

When i shut my laptop the tv i use as my monitor goes blank.

Right click the power icon in the system tray (should look like a little plug with a lightning bolt on it.)  Click on "adjust power properties."  Click on the "advanced" tab, then where it says, "When I close the lid of my portable computer," select "Do Nothing."

My hp pavilion dv6000 laptop does not turn on, the blue buttons light up, but the screen stays off

Try it without the rechargable battery connected sometimes the battery shorts and causes problems.
Do you have FN[function] keys at the left side. touch FN key with something else and see if screen comes back.Sometimes you can turn off the screen to send it to the back connected monitor.Connect (extra if you have) an external monitor to the back (vga) connector. If that shows, then you have to ""flutzz" with the FN(function) & F1-F12 keys

Hi i have hp dv6000 my laptop is on but the screen is blank some time they came up and then went out again please help.

Turn the computer ON. Take a flashlight and shine it at an angle into the screen. If you still see the image on the screen most likely the inverter in the screen has went out. I would suggest taking the laptop to the local authorized repair station.

Blue screen when starting up

just double check the keyboard connection if it's ps2 type connector; if it's a usb mouse it won't work cos the drivers have not loaded. Only other solution is to remove right side panel of pc and locate the JBAT1 terminal and move jumper from pins 1-2 to pins 2-3 for a few seconds and back again. Turn on pc and then hopefully you can access the bios to set the time and date and save settings then re start.
