Hi, I just purchased a Samsung series 3 330 model#LN40A330 I'am having problems with the AV inputs on back of television. I hooked up a DVD player to Component 1 it works fine Then I hooked up Nintendo Wii on Component 2 it works but screen is in Black and White. I then reversed it and hooked up my Nintendo Wii to component 1 it worked fine. Then I hooked up my DVD player to Component 2 and the DVD player was in Black and White. Any Ideas?

I figured it out,
The solution to my problem was to update my video cables for my new HDTV.
I found out through trial and error that I can only have one Anolog device hooked up to the TV because with two Anolog devices hooked up the same way it must confuse the TV somehow making one of the inputs showing up in Black and White, So I purchased the color coded AV jacks and everthing works like a charm now.

Toshiba back projector 43' how do i make the av

Look at what input you plugged the DVD player into. maybe AV1 or AV2

Now on your remote, or on the front of the TV, push input until it stops on the one that your DVD player is plugged into.

You can access the set up mode menu if you have the TV mode.
The DVD should be hook up to the TV using A/V inputs using yellow, red and white cables and select A/V 1 or any other input where the cables are connected to.

How do I hook up a HD satallite dvr to a av reciever dvd player and HDTV using HDMI cables

Things You’ll Need:
  • HD television
  • HD satellite or cable receiver
  • DVD player
  • Stereo receiver
  • AV cables
  • Cable connector
  • HDMI cables
Step1Examine the back of your HDTV. You will see a series of input jacks for AV cables, (typically color-coded white and red for audio and yellow for video), as well as an antenna input and one or more HDMI input jacks. There will likely be a number of them, but each one should be distinguished with a label ("video," "cable" or something similar). Step2Attach the cable connector from the cable or satellite receiver to the antenna input on the back of the TV. Step3Connect the AV cables to the DVD player, VCR, stereo receiver or whichever other component you wish to connect to the television. The cables should line up by color: place the white cable in the white input jack, the red cable in the red input jack and the yellow cable in the yellow input jack. All three cables from each component need to go into the same label input jacks. Usually, they will all line up in a vertical row. Step4Find the HDMI output jack on your receiver or DVD player (some receivers will not have them--they are necessary to receive a high definition signal--but can still play on the TV through the cable connector or AV cables). Attach one end of an HDMI cable to the output jack of the receiver and the other end into the input jack on the HDTV. Step5Turn on the TV. Access the menu with your remote, and follow any instructions it gives you. Your HDTV may require a few additional steps to complete the hookup of the receiver (though not all of them will). Step6Access the "input" button on your TV remote. This will allow you to switch the TV signal to one of the cable connections you have just made. For example, if you attached the HDMI cable to the first of two HDMI input jacks, the TV will flash "HDMI 1" on the screen to tell you that is where it is receiving its signal. Hope that helps..........

Im trying to set up my tv, it was given to me as a gift, my uncle was using it it works i can change the channels but when i try to work my dvd player with it, only the audio comes on the screen stays...

Hi,
Please few things...
1- Make sure audio and video wires are hooked correctly in AV input of tv and you selected that AV input in tv with its remote.
2- Also check your dvd has not been set on progressive mode if you hook dvd player through yellow-red-white wires with tv.
3- if dvd player is set on progressive mode, then hook it with tv by component video input, red-green-blue for video and red-white for audio.
Hope this info will solve your problem.
Thanks.

I HAVE A MAGNAVOX TV MODEL 255102-OODD, A MOTOROLLA (VERIZON) SET TOP BOX MODEL QIP2400/1006 AND A JVC DVD MODEL DR-MV150BJ. I HAVE TRIED ALL THE HOOK-UPS SUGGESTED BY JVC AND STILL CONNOT GET A PICTURE. ...

ok, The issue will be in the sequence you have things connected. The connections sequence is going to be controlled by what connections are available. I assume the Set Top controller is connection to your Antennea connection on the TV. Your TV should be on channel 3 or 4. The next step depends on what type of connectors you are using for the JVC DVD. I have an Antennea output on mine so I connected them in series. If you don't have an Antennea output from teh DVD player you will need to connect the DVD using Audio/Video cables which means you will need to connect to the TV alternate Source connector and to watch DVD's you will need to change to that source. Much like you would switch between regular TV and VCR tape on a VCR player connected to the Antennea connector.

Tosheba 50hx81 no picture or sound. press on button and hear speakers do something but no sound

It is likely that you don't have the right input to the television.
First get a source that you know works. How about a DVD player.
Get the cables from your DVD player (should be yellow RCA or "Phono" plug for the composite video out put.) Connect only the yellow video out put to your t.v. input and then press the av input button until you see the picture (note: besure that the DVD player is turned on and you have a dvd in it. We sometimes miss the very basics).

Once you get the picture than connect the audio cables, should be red and white to the corresponding colors. Do you have audio now?

If this test worked fine, it is likely that the solution to your other problem is that you have it on the wrong av input and need to press that button a few more times to find your satallite or cable input. There is a possibility that you are trying to use the tuner in your T.V. and it may be again as simple as choosing antenna input and that too needs to be hooked up to a good source.

Write me back if none of this helped.

Hi! name's wesley. anyways, here's the problem. i just bought a new samsung 32' lcd tv and everything is great except for one thing: when i connect my ps2 to the "av 2" input, the sound comes out...

There is a problem with the AV2 input. Since this is a new set, return it for repair or exchange. DO NOT open it up as that would void the warranty.
