My canon MP480 keeps poping up a 5100 error

That error is a Carriage error, which means that the printer carriage (the bit that holds the cartridges) is unable to move or similar.

Make sure you've installed the cartridges correctly and that the grey lever that holds down the printhead is in the down and locked position.

You may find that you've installed the printhead incorrectly so worth pulling out the cartridges, removing the printhead and then reseating it so the lever goes down to a horizontal position. Then reinsert the cartridges.

Epson Stylus DX 8400

If ink cartridge Unrecognizable, there are two posibilities : Chip Error at ink tank, or printer error. For chip error, try to plug the ink tank to another printer (same type). If the ink tank recognized by other printer, so the problem is printer.
So ;
1. Check chip conector at head carriage.
2. Check the wiring of the head, and chip.
If two point above is ok, the last action is check the power supply and board. It may be epprom is damage.

My brand new printer is displaying printer error code 5100 and will not print or recognise the ink not sure if this means the ink cartridges are faulty.

That error translates as a "Carriage error"... which means that the printer carriage (the bit that holds the cartridges) is unable to move or similar.

Check you've installed the cartridges correctly and that the grey lever that holds down the printhead, etc.. has been put in the down and locked position.

You may find that you've installed the printhead incorrectly so worth pulling out the cartridges, removing the printhead and then reseating it so the lever goes down to a horizontal position. Then reinsert the cartridges.

If that doesn't solve it the best course of action is to return it and demand a replacement.

Konica magiclolor 2530 DL Fatal Error 1bh

Basically the fuser is not operating properly. This fault can be caused by 1 of 4 things. The fuser itself, the engine control board, DC power supply unit or the fuser safety switch lever hinge. The easiest to check first is the hinge. Disconnect the power cord and remove the Left side cover. Beneath this is a boomerang shaped lever arm with a pivot in the middle. As this pivot is plastic it can break over time. if you can source an appropriate self tapping screw, this can effect a repair.

Where is the dx lever?

There is a lever on the back of the machine. I had this same error message, and I just moved the lever to the opposite side. The first time I moved it, items printed on single side still in the cue came out. Immediately after it printed, the DX lever message appeared on the error screen again. I went back and switched to to the other side, and then my duplex copies in the cue started to print. So far so good. Somehow the duplex feature was manually shut off. My husband was printing office checks at the time, so this might have triggered something, since the checks cannot be printed in duplex mode.

The Brother is a little clunky of a machine. So...even though the duplex lever in the back isn't marked, and I couldn't find the info in the user manual...this seems to be the only thing that's manually adjustable on the machine.

Hope this helps!

Toner problems

I've had this problem several time. Usually I fix it with a q-tip!

Open the top of the printer and locate the correct toner cartridge. Pull the (blue) lever on the right side of the cartridge toward you to disengage it from the drum. Gently life the toner cartridge out of the printer.

On the right end (the end with the blue lever) there's a small slot. You should see some white plastic in there. Use the qtip to clean off any dirt or toner.

Now replace your toner cartridge and slide the blue lever back to the original position. Close the top.

This USUALLY fixes the problem. (I must stress "usually" because I'm having the problem right now and this procedure won't fix it, but I've fixed it with this method a dozen times before.)
