You are getting RF feed back..this can be controlled by the dynamike controll, also you may have the cb mounted close to your stereo. The best way to install any tx/rx is direct connect to you battery (both + and , and suffers from low receive output
(should be about 3 watts) I suspect dried up electro caps is the
problem, as there are heaps in this set as well as heaps of tantalum electro caps (electrolytic capacitors) These cause the set to drift off frequency / power

SORRY MATE MADE A BLOODY MESS OF THAT POST !!!!

You are getting RF feed back, you should be able to stop this

by using the dynamike control. Also , the best way to install any tx/rx is both the + and - leads direct to the car battery using an inline fuse. i know these sets, and they are a bugger to generate" whistleup" and also suffer from low voice output.I think

the problem is they have such a large amount of electrolytic capacitors (including tantalum) and the electrolite has dried up with age causing power down ,and frequency drift. (98% of the parts in these radios are freely available in stores like **** Smith

or Jaycar Electronice but would be a long job to change all of them, and that may still not fix any problems. But , if you have electronic skills it can be done. because the circuit board is densely packed IT WILL NEED SKILL AND TIME.

    GOOD LUCK FLYINGFOX@PEOPLE.NET.AU

Cobra highgear hg75m mic squeals

get it away from the ext . speaker. They are cheap enough ,buy another one and see if it still squeals. If it does then you may have to jump the mic with resistors ,turn down your mic gain, check for talk back on rear where your pa. and external speaker hooks to inside the radio. If you see a resister connecting them then you have talk back . Mainly its a Keep the mic away from the speaker deal that makes them squeal. Try other cobra mics with the same pin out and see if it still happens . easy fix just have to be patient .

That usually is for "Talk Back". When you speak into the microphone you should hear yourself in the speaker.

Everytime i try to speak to someone they here a screeching noise at there end and cant make out what im saying, but i can here them ok at my end, ive changed mics so i no its not that, would it be my ariel...

Make sure that you are both on FM or USB If the modulation is not the same then you have a bad communication. If you hit the mike and they get a santia 9+ then the arial cannot be the issue

I assume that you have tested it with a mike that was supplied with the cb?

good luck

Modulation style woodspeaker

i am not sure what a wood speaker is ,unless you're talking about a home speaker.if you are coming through stereo
speakers take any excess wire on the speaker and coil it up as many small loops as you can and tape or wire tie them.this creates a trap.this works on just about any thing picking up you're signal.

I don't have voice, have carrier. Cobra 29 ltd

there are several things that might be responsible for the absence of modulation when speaking into the microphone. a defective mic cartridge, a broken audio or audio shield/ground wire in the mic cable or mic plug or a defective push-to-talk switch in the mic itself, for starters. if all is well here then the amc and transmitter speech stages in the transceiver will have to be considered next. locate and check with a known good mic wired for the radio in question. let me know.

No Transmitting, no RX sound, but can hear speaker click on...

Hi there!!

The symptom sounds like a bad Microphone connection or a bad microphone!! The Cobra has a built in circuit that wont allow you to hear anyone until the microphone is plugged in and the no transmit part will also do the same. Try another microphone that is wired right for that radio before you do anything else!! let me know!!

It is the small red wire that goes in the PA, or you can just ground this wire. The bluetooth will work through the stock microphone. The external mic is for handsfree use.

Losed all

The talk back may be nothing more than a 10 ohm resistor shorted across the pa/external speaker outputs. If this is the sitution, the resistor may have damaged the audio chip. Remove the resistor and see if this corrects the problem. If not you may need to replace the audio chip. Hope this helps
