It means your calculator is currently set to measure angles in degrees.

There are three common units to measure angles. A full circle is 360 degrees, or 400 grads, or two pi radians. The results of the trigonometric functions depend on the current measure, just as you'd get different numbers if you measure a person's height in inches, feet, or meters.

The sine of 90 radians is about 0.89, as your calculator shows. If you want the sine of 90 degrees, change the angular mode to degrees by pressing MODE, use the cursor keys to highlight "Degree" on the third line, press ENTER then 2nd QUIT.
You're calculating (8^1)/3 which is 2.6666667 . If you want the third root of 8, press 8 ^ ( 1 / 3 ) ENTER .

My graphing function doesn't work for trigonometric functions.

The angle unit is not conform to your problem.
If angle unit in your problem is degrees, change angle unit to degrees on calculator.
Then change the Xmin, Xmax values to about -180 and 180

The simple way with any calculator is to multiply your result by (pi/180) because degrees/360=radians/(2*pi)

Theres any way to repair my calculator(TI 84 PLUS TEXAS INSTRUMENTS) in canada?

Hi hong minji,

In the U.S.A. we have electronic stores like Radio Shack. I'm sure Canada has electronic store like Radio Shack. They would be a good place to contact and, get your calculator fixed.

You can select a U.S. A. city from this Fixya repair site and, send it there. Just click, "U.S.A. repairs!" Once at the site it will say, "Find a, Select a Repair Pro." Right click and select, "Computer and Laptop Tech." Next you can enter a city and, state in the U.S.A. so, choose a city and state that is close to you. You should have several Repair Pro's to select from. Or you can just enter your question in the Ask a Repair Pro, Ask a Question box. They should get back to you fast.

I think is your best choice is to seek replacement or, repair by Texas Instruments. All you have to do to contact Texas Instruments is go to their web site and, fill out a request for a Returned Material Authorization (RMA) number for a product replacement. You can start that process by clicking this link, "TI-cares Customer Assistance form." Once your at the Ti web site simply fill out their TI-cares Customer Assistance form. They even do work in Canada so, they will respond quickly with an email. All you have to do is reply to that email, and you will be given a RMA number and further instructions.

To contact Customer Service with out going to the Texas Instruments web site send an email to or call 1-800 TI CARES (1-800-842-2737) Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 7:00pm or Friday 10:00am - 7:00pm Central Standard Time.

If you have any more questions about getting your Ti 84 Plus repaired, simply post a comment of your inquire and, I'll respond quickly.
