No turn you termalsate to the off pos. Then to fan on. Them see if it goes off and then switch to cooling on the coldest sting if the fan in air handler shuts off before. The stat tells it to it might be kicking out on thermal overload bad motor. Check the condnsor fan for this to fans don't turn on unless they are told to by power going to a board or a relay low voltage control wires may be damaged clean the units pay a tension
Check to see if the intake for your heater core/ airconditioner is blocked. Its sometimes located on the passenger side of the car. Below the windshield. Sometimes there is kind of a grill below the window behind the hood. Make sure its not clogged full of leaves etc. You need outside airflow through that hole to go through your heater /airconditioner core to give you heat in winter, cool air in summer.
Your condensor fan motor has more than likely gone out. This fan should run at all times when the unit is on. Since the fan isn't working then the motor must have gone out.
low voltage issues causes higher amp draw and equipment to run a lot harder. whats causing the low voltage problem to the equipment? high amp draw of the compressor could be causing it to overheat and trip until the compressor physically cools down.
Try to reset the unit by disconnecting the power supply for 10sec. and operate the unit. If wont work then there are some safety device that work or defective. Try counting the blink of your green light so that I can convert the error code.
