I beleive you have to enable audio in the HDMI SETUP so it will send the digital audio through HDMI ports, check the cable box and the TV HDMI sound setup.

No picture, but have sound on AOC L22W898

Does it do this in both TV and monitor mode or just monitor mode? If in both modes, the high voltage power supply that provides power to illuminate the screen is probably bad.
Have a repair shop check the high voltage power supply.

Replace the cable from your cable box to television. Try one from one of your other cable boxes before buying one, but I highly suspect the actual cable from box to TV is bad

Looking for hd channel

To get an hd picture you have to use a digital input and this cannot be done by simply turning it to a channel. You need to hook up your HD receiver (box) to your tv using either an HDMI or a Component which will be a cable that looks similar to an rca but there are three of them and the colors are bed blue and green. If there is a red, blue and green on the back of the cable box and the tv hook them together with a component cable and then find the input on your tv that correlates to the compnent connections and then even after all of this you need to be tuned into a channel that is offered in high definition and if you have cable like I do the high definition channel will be a seperate channel from the regular one. Comcast in my area puts the HD's from channels 400-500. For example my espn HD is channel 403 but just regular espn non HD is on channel 27 in my area.

How to get a high definition Picture??

Hi, first of all you need a high definition source. I'm not sure if your cable box is HD but lets take it as an example. The component leads which you are using isn't 'true' HD video quality, what you need is a hdmi cable from your source to your TV.

Your cable box maybe HD with a HDMI output, if it is then you need the lead to come out of the cable box into your tv's HDMI input using a HDMI lead. Then you switch your TV's source to the HDMI input and it then should be producing a HD quality picture, but to truly get the full HD experience you may want to subscripe to a HD channel or purchase a blueray player becasue most cable TV channels are upscaled to HD and the definition is not as good as on a blue ray disc or a true HD channel.

So in conclusion the cable and input you are using is not designed for HD input. I believe your TV is HD, check for HDMI inputs or DVI inputs.

Hope this explains your problem

Grainy picture

Greetings israelmaker,

In order to receive true high definition television, you will need a high definition cable box. Basic channels are going to look more grainy and not as clear overall even with an HD box, however you won't be able to view or decode the actual HD channels without a box.

In addtion, what type of cables are you using to hook up your existing box? This can have a substantial impact on the picture you see.

I hope some of this helps.

Changing Screen Size on Samsung HP-R4272

you must not have the correct picture settings in the cable box, as although they are not HD they will still be widescreen, so check both tv and box for picture settings.
