Question about Sony Walkman NWZ-B105F MP3 Player

Starts up to "Walkman" Screen then turns off

Was using my walkman and it shut off because of the battery being low. So I charged it and ever since it won't go past the "Walkman" startup screen. I've tried the reset button, (re)updating the firmware, re-installing the driver on my computer to recognize it as a USB device. It says the battery is fully charged when I plug it in, and all the files on it show up fine on the computer. I've held the power button down and it just keep flashing to the walkman screen as it turns on and off.

I've tried combinations of buttons Power + turn on hold, power + play button, whatever you could think of and nothing. The files play fine and it's still recognized by my computer and PS3 and playable on both. Just not sure what could be the problem. I know it was doing something like this before when it was registered as a MTP device when I first got it. But that fix for it doesn't help.

Eh fixed it, went to the firmware 1.1 update and choose the format drive option. In the end it boots up now, but of course I have to put all my music back on it and I'm still not sure why it stopped working in the first place. I guess it just doesn't handle the "low battery" stop too well.

    I have a NW Z A815 had same problem.

You say that I install something to make the computer recognize it as a USB device, then search for that firware, install it [how in the world do i do that?] and then it should work ?

(Re)installed the 1.1 firmware update, and clicked the "format data area" box. It works fine however it of course deleted all my mp3s. I still don't know why it broke down but I figure it just doesn't work well when it shuts down suddenly due to "low battery".

The same thing happened with my s616f and I just fixed it today. Connect your walkman to the computer to charge it then when the blue screen pops up heres gonna be that blue line going across the screen(the thing that shows that its loading) then while its loading press and hold the back/home and the option/pwr off buttons until it turns on. Hope it works:)

Hi lybastr,
I guess you have to let it charge awhile. When the battery gets too low, it might even refuse to go past the welcome screen. Let it charge for an hour or so. If the screen is still stuck on "walkman", then you might have a problem, but that's not common, so rest assured.

My walkman will not charge. I left it on charge

Hi joanna,
It is probably not turning on due to extremely low battery. Have you been using it for quite a few years? Then there may be a problem with the battery. But before that, please try connecting the player to another USB port on your computer, or removing any USB extensions except what SONY provided, or upgrading your USB driver. If nothing works, I'm afraid you'll have to refer it to a service center.
