Do you get sound from it with another source like the TV tuner or anything that you connect to the inputs?

Make sure that you have the audio output connected to your TV or your stereo receiver. It has RCA jacks for the audio output and if that is not connected to the input of your TV's audio input jack on the same input as the video input or connected to the audio input jacks of the receiver. Whatever you use for sound make sure the output jacks are connected to it.

If you are using the digital output, it has 2, make sure that the source for the device it is plugged into is set for digital input and not analog.

Without more information about what the DVD recorder is connected to and what connections you are using, this is about all I can offer right now.

If this information was helpful I would really appreciate a good rating, and if it still did not help please post more information and I may be able to help you further.

    Thanks and good luck,
    Dave

The solution to this problem depends on the current setup of your device. First, try a different DVD. If that DVD works (makes sound) then the problem is not the DVD player.
If the DVD does the same thing the the problem is the player or speakers. First, make sure the output from your DVD player has cables coming from the red and white outputs and that they are connected to your television or audio device. Second, if you are using a single cable like a coax cable, then try replacing the cable. If that does not work, then check your television or audio devise to make sure that is has sound when changed to other channels. If you still need help please try our premium service or contact a local technician from our online technician list.
Good luck :)

Need to know how to finalize recorded disc so that it can be played in regular dvd player

You can record and finalize DVD+Rs one time. After you fill a DVD+R or

complete all the recordings you want on a single DVD+R, finalize it.

Otherwise, the DVD+R will play only on this Recorder. To play the Disc on

other DVD Players, you must finalize it first.

Once you finalize a DVD+R, you cannot record on it anymore or make

editing changes. Therefore, make sure the Disc is as you want it before you

finalize it.

1

Press SYSTEM MENU. Press

; to select in the top left

corner of the menu bar at the top of the TV screen.

2

Press CH-

9 repeatedly to select in the second screen,

then press

:.

3

Press CH-

9 repeatedly to select Finalize disc. Finalize disc

appears in the menu only when an unfinalized DVD+R is in the

Recorder.

4

Press OK.

"Finalizing" will appear in the menu. The process may

take a few minutes.

When finalization is complete, the Index

picture screen will reappear.

You cannot unfinalize a DVD+R, and you cannot record or

edit the DVD+R after you finalize it.

A DVD+R will play on other DVD Players only after the
Disc is finalized.

Dmr-ES30V Dvd plays pre record movies fine but I

Try a different brand of blank dvd+r or -r. you will find that your dvd machine is fussy on what discs it plays. More exspensive dvd players are fussy with what dvd discs you put in, as cheaper dvd players would virtualy play most types of dvds.
