Question about Scosche Industries (UBHP) Consumer Headphones

Open Question

UBHPK: Rechargeable battery replacement

AFAIK, capacity of the rechargeable battery to hold charge will diminish with time and eventually it will have to be replaced.
So I was trying to find some instructions as to how they can be replaced.

IT would be great if I could know ;
- the type of batteries used in the headset and transmitter ;
- where I can buy them and ;
- how I can replace the batteries(how to open up the headset and transmitter so that I can get to the batteries)

Rechargeable lithium battery goes off after 3 minutes

If the rechargeable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

My contoller charges but does not stay on afterwards. it shuts down and stays powerless.

It sounds as though the battery inside the controller is bad. When rechargeable batteries run out of life (it happens to all of them eventually) they take on what is called a "memory" and while they will take an active charge, even show a full charge, the capacity to hold a charge can diminish to nearly no time at all. Sounds like you need a replacement. In the mean time, you should be able to operate the controller while the charging cable is connected.
