That means getting rid of the limescale build up in the machine.
When the limescale becomes to much the machine slows dow.
buy a descaling solution at your local convenience store or grocery store. Use it as adviced on the bottle but do this twice in a row because a 30-40 minute brew means a lot of blockage. When you do it the second time turn the machine off after half the solution has gone through. Let stand for about 30 min and than turn machine on again. Flush twice with full pot of clean water and you will see that is will improve your time

What does it need when the window reads "descale"

when the display says "Descale" it means that the machine wants to run a cleaning program to remove any limescale build up on the heating elements.
you will need to put a descaleing solution in to the main water tank and run the descale program
follow the instructions in the manual to descale
Note (useing anything but the recommended descaler may void the warranty)

When I turn on my Royal plus, the digital screen says Decalcify. What does this mean and how do I do it?

HI
To automatically descale your machine, press the scoop or menu button and hold it down until you enter the menu. Use the arrows to scroll up until you come to Descale. Press enter and the machine will enter the mode to descale your machine. The process takes about 45 minutes. You don't have to do a thing except mix a full water tank with descaling solution and have a container under the steam wand when your start. If you have a cappuccinonatori on your machine you will need two containers. To start the descaling process, simply turn the steam knob. When the process is over your machine will say, "Descale finished". Remove your water tank and rinse it out. Refill it with fresh water. Replace on the machine and start the descaling process over again to rinse your machine. Go back into your menu and scroll up or down 1 to "Signal Descale" and enter. Choose "Yes" and push enter so the machine will tell you when you need to descale again.

Not enough water making it from holding tank to dispensing cup

your machine is "Short Cupping"

It needs to be descaled. Even though the descale light might not be on yet, the descale light only comes on when it is in SERIOUS need of a descaling. You should descale once every 3 months.

Fill reservoir with distilled white vinegar and leave the machine on for 4 hours (make sure to turn off the auto off option).

after 4 hours, run the vinegar through the machine until the reservoir is empty. Refill with water and repeat twice. you will notice a difference right when you start running vinegar through.

Saeco Magic Comfort plus: Despite descaling the machine twice, the Descaling notice remains lit on my screen. Brews great coffee but what gives?

Hi
In the menu there is a program below the descaling program that says Reset descale. Enter this program and choose "yes", and make sure that you push the enter button to lock your answer. If you don't it will still be there.
Also go to your water hardness and move it to the #4. This will prevent you from having to replace the boiler sooner than needed. Descale when told to by the machine.

How do I descale my Saeco Vienna Deluxe?

Purchase the Saeco descaler. Mix solution accordingly. Pour into water tank. Run a cappucino cup full of water through the wand. Wait about 20 minute and repeat. Do this until all the water is gone in the tank. (Don't run all the water at once!). Rinse water tank well. FIll with clean water and run through the wand. I do this twice just to be sure I have gotten all the chemical out.
