New bluetooth remote. Will not pair. System scans forever. Tried all solutions on this board, including reboot with batteries out, placing remote on PS3 after reinstall of batteries.

OK I FIGURED IT OUT!!! First turn off the system(ps3) make sure that you take the batteries out of the remote. Then when you turn it back on go straight to system setting, setting accessories, setting blue tooth device. AND THEN IT WILL TELL YOU TO HOLD DOWN THE START AND ENTER BUTTON DOWN!. Don't forget to put the batteries back into the remote. It took like 3 seconds.

WIth the PS3 updates, there is now an option for Registering a BD Remote that is separate from registering a Bluetooth accessory. Much easier!!

Like sirtwinx2 said.. There is an option under settings, accessory settings, and register bd remote control. The directions from the ps3 ask you to hold down the start and enter button on the bd remote control to register it. I tried doing this several times while holding it for several minutes each time with no success. It wasn't until I took out the bd remote batteries, turned the ps3 off, turned the ps3 on, went straight to settings, accessory settings, register bd remote control, put the batteries back in, and held down the start and enter buttons. I had to do that twice, but it did finally register. Thank you sirtwinx2!

How to use bluetooth

A Bluetooth headset has to be registered, or "paired", with your PS3 before it can be used.

  • Make sure your Bluetooth headset is fully charged before you begin.
  • Check your headset instructions for entering "pairing mode". Activate your headsets' "pairing mode" so it can be recognized by the PS3.
  • On the Cross Media Bar (or XMB) of the PS3 go to the "Settings" tab, then down into "Accessory Settings", then down into "Manage Bluetooth Devices".
  • With your headset in pairing mode, follow the onscreen instructions and let the PS3 scan for your headset. When your headset is found, follow the prompts and enter a pass key (if necessary- the default is usually 0000 for all brands). The pairing should now be complete.

Please explane how to hook my playstation 3 blue ray remote up to my playstation 3

1Insert the two AA batteries into back of the DVD/BD remote.
  • 2Power on your PlayStation 3 system manually. You can accomplish this by pressing the "PS" button in the middle of your wireless controller, or on the front of your PlayStation 3.
  • 3Navigate to "Settings" on the PS3 home menu, referred to as the XMB.
  • 4Scroll down the list of settings and select "Accessory Settings" by pressing "X" on your PS3 wireless controller.
  • 5Select "Register BD Remote Control" by pressing the "X" on your PS3 controller.
  • 6Follow the on-screen instructions that appear for registering your BD/DVD remote control. Once the remote is paired, you can control various multimedia applications on your system.

How do you turn the bluetooth on on a ps3 cause i cant get my bluetooth headset to pair

Turn on your Playstation 3, and from the main menu go to Settings - Accessory Settings - Register Bluetooth Device
You will be presented with two options:
    Register BD Remote Control
    Register Headset/Microphone/Headphones

Select Register Headset... and put your Bluetooth headset into pairing mode. On your PS3 select Start Scanning
Select your device and enter your pairing code. In most cases for audio devices the default pairing code is "0000"
Now on your PS3, go to Audio Device Settings and change your "Input Device" and "Output Device" to your Bluetooth headset name. Try speaking and watch your "Mic Level" move!

This might help you as well:)

    Ps3 remote

which remote the controller or the remote to control the bluray and stuff. If its the controller just plug it to the ps3 with the usb cable then press the ps button. If it's the remote for the blu ray. I'm pretty sure you just have to go the the "Accessory Settings" and find the option to pair devices. Make sure the remote is in the mode where it searchs, check for that in the booklet, and there may even be a code you have to put in the ps3 (possibly '0000') or whatever it may say in the booklet.

Headset wont pair with new ps3

    is this bluetooth
if it is blue tooth you have to hold blue tooth power on while the pairing mode is searching for headset
if its a cabled headset threw usb you gotta put in your disk for say example= logitech since these are common
the playstation has memmory card that stores the settings but requires you at least set up usb head set parameters either to ps3 or your memmory cards properties
your headset is fine you just require a new hardware setting with the disk that came with your head set
