Question about Alpine Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

I have an Alpine Model CDM-9821. I just bought another vehicle and want to install my alpine in it. I have all of the wiring hooked up properly but am unable to get my unit to power up. I have 12.5 volts on the radio side of the fuse.

Dont know where black wire pluggs in

A black wire is a ground wire and most likely it should be connected to a good ground source like the metal support for the dash.

Ipod to alpine CDM-9821

Hello andrewbheber,

Your head unit is an Alpine "M-Bus" unit and has a proprietary connector for the AUX input. It requires a special cable from Alpine, the model KCM-123B..

Here's a link to the product. Click on the cable itself to see an image of what the connector on the back of your receiver looks like.

Hope this helps.
