I try to turn on my phone and it stays in the Motorola Screen. I close the phone and it remains in that same screen without changing to turn off the display like it would normally. I cannot do anything else but this.

there is nothing wrong with your screen, the problem is from the flex that connects your screen to the phone's main board. This flex must have worn out that's why your screen is not displaying any picture.
The problem is common with flip and slide phones. The flex gets worn out as a result of constant opening and close of the flip or slide phone.
I would urge you to replace the flex and I am assuring you that your screen will display picture again. You might also be lucky to find out that the flex is not well fix, that is, it may have loosed contact.
If you cannot change the flex yourself, maybe you should take the phone to a local repairer within your vicinity, so that the flex can be fixed/replaced.
even if you flip the phone closed the blank screen still stays white. i
think the problem was the charger i had. it was to a razr and the dc
output is not the same so i think i might of overcharged it at one
point or time. what i did was let it run down till completely dead then
charged about 10 min. when you turn it on just try to push as many as
the buttons as you can at once.. mostly the top ones and soft keys.
that might get the screen to come on.. then if it does change your
backlight timer to like 5 seconds so when you use your phone the screen
will go out when your done and it will not drain your battery.. well i
hope it helps. it worked on mine
in the top right corner you are suppose to have a little circular magnet that changes the screen when the phone is open or closed. I just changed my housing yesterday and took the magnet out and put it in my new housing but for some reason i have the same problem as you. so maybe you lost the magnet when you replaced the lcd and if that is the case then you are screwed. try have Motorola fix it, don't tell them you replaced the lcd
this same thing happened to me - cause LCD screen going out = it's weak and thats the sign that it is giving up.
To Temporiley to keep it on: take the battery out and back cover of battery off place phone in ICE section of Freezer ( NOT IN THE ICE )by the area where it gets cold leave it there for 10-minutes, then take it out after 10-minutes wipe everything up put the battery back on and restart phone & wah'la it's working....
I'm having the same trouble, and I've found it's because the v3 no longer recognizes the opening and closing of the phone itself. You see, when you close it, something is triggered that tells the phone to shut off the main screen and change the outer screen to the usual mode where it shows the time. You can also test this by trying to take a picture and closing the phone - the external lcd no longer doubles as a second camera display to easily take pictures of yourself.
I dropped mine into the toilet, and I'm not sure if there's anything to do but take it to a tech. Sounds and looks like a hardware problem to me.
