You may need to uninstall your USB port drivers thru the Windows Device Manager and reboot . Windows will see your USB ports when it restarts and reinstall the drivers which will include support for flash drives including Pny flash drives.

Yes, your mainboard supports up to 2GB of DDR memory. That does not change if you add a graphic card. Windows XP 32 bit can actually address up to 4 GB of total memory including CD, hard drives, and video cache.
Note: Your mainboard only supports up to 2 GB, but newer boards can support much more memory, up to 16GB of RAM.
If you could install 4 GB of RAM in your machine, it would still work, but windows would only address as much RAM as it can use; the rest would go unused, so it would probably show up as 3.5 GB of RAM then.

I am trying to find out if a Sony Vaio with ATI Mobilty Radeon 9200 can be upgraded to Windows 7.

Sony Vaio VGN-A250 is a good choice.
  • Intel Pentium M 725 (1.6GHz, 2MB Cache)
  • 512MB PC2700 DDR Memory (2GB Maximum)
  • 80GB Hard Drive
  • 4x DVD+/-RW Optical Drive
  • 15.4" WXGA (1280x800) LCD and ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 with 64MB Memory
  • AC'97 Audio
  • v.90 56Kbps Modem, 10/100 Ethernet and 802.11b/g Wireless
  • Three USB 2.0, One FireWire, One Type II PC Card Slot and MS Slot
  • 14.8" x 10.9" x 1.8" @ 7.3 lbs.
  • Windows XP Home, MS Works, WinDVD, Quicken, Norton Internet Security, Sony Suite

It will be upgradeable to Windows 7 if you install more memory (2GB DDR Max.)

I have issues with the second ATI FirePro V7800 card. I am running Window 7 pro - 64 bit. The motherboard is ASUS Sabertooth X58. Intel Corei7. Corsair 24 GB. Both two cards were working fine...

In order to further troubleshoot this issue, I would recommend the following:

Uninstall the ATI drivers from your computer.
Shut down the computer.
Remove the ATI card from your computer, and connect your monitor to the onboard video adapter.
Turn on the computer.
Ensure the ATI software was infact removed.
Shut down the computer
Reinstall the ATI video Card
Turn On the computer
Reinstall the ATI drivers ensuring to select the proper "CrossFire" configuration

i would recommend using a utility that performs a low level format of the flash drive... note that all data is lost on it. You may just have hidden files on it and your windows settings dont allow you to view hidden and system files...

let me know if you want to check for hidden files first or want a link to download a low level flash drive formatter....

Rescue data on optima attache 4G thumb drive?

Leave the thumbdrive plugged in to the computer and reboot.

Right click on my computer, click Manage, click on disk management, locate your thumb drive, right click and choose assign (or change) a drive letter. If it already has a drive letter, give it a different one as it’s already in use

Is this thumb drive USB specific? Some of the newer ones require a 2.0 USB port. It's possible you're plugging it into a 1.0 port.

open my computer and hit the f5 key on your keyboard for a refresh.. might not have posted.

try one or more of these

PNY Optima Attache 4g Flash Drive

Change the drive letter of the pny drive to another letter, different than that of your accounting package. Right click "My Computer" click "Manage" select "Disk Managment" right click the drive, select "Change drive letter and Path" and then change the drive letter to something not used on that computer.

PNY Optima Attache 4G

I had all the same problems and figured it out. Right click on my computer and go to manage, then select the disk management option. Right click on the drive and select partition. Then tell it to partition the full size of the drive and make sure you dont let it use the fat or fat32 options. It will then ask you to format when you partition it, use then quick format and it formats. Works good now. I did this on xp pro so I dont know if vista will be the same.
