I just recently bought an 802.11g wireless pci card. Installed the drivers on my HP Pavillion running XP but windows refuses to correctly detect the card.
The card is listed In the Hardware Manager but for some reason doesn't want to install the drivers located on C:/WINDOWS/OPTIONS/CABS
You need to update the driver from device manager and make sure that you browse for the driver from your installation CD because there are times that windows install its own driver for a device liek a wireless adapter.
hope that helps........

Hi, I have an Windows XP and a Linksys router. After installed this adapter in my computer it works fine and it's connect to the router without problems, but the connection resets after 2 seconds every time. I don't have distance problems because the router is next to the computer and my notebook works fine. I don't kown what else I can do since I already get's the lasted drivers from the Encore web site. thanks, Mauricio
