Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
Well right before this had happened I noticed the color variations on backlot on COD4 become really distorted, the sandy ground was not supposed to look that green and the explosions were not really that insanley red. Finally once the screen became black and white I eagerly restarted the xbox hoping this would solve the problem and to my demise, no video at all. The audio plays fine, but the tv screens on both my basic rca 27' and the 50' hd just remain black, with these faint even star-like patterns everywhere. This is happening while using both rca/component and hdmi cables.
Thank you for whatever info anyone has.
I had this problem and for about a month couldn't play my xbox. I then found out my warranty was up so i was out of options, cause i wasn't gonna pay 100 to get it fixed. so i tried the towel trick, and surprisingly enough, it worked. the first time i did it i didn't let it overheat, (2 red lights) but i got it just hot enough and it turned on with the video, but soon after, a couple minutes or so, the color went wack again, all green and yellow and what not but i could still see. after i turned it off again however, i couldn't see anything. so i did it a second time, this time i let it overheat to where i saw the 2 red lights, and i was able to play a good 3 or 4 hours until i was done, with no color problems at all. I then tried to restart it to see if it would work again, and it did. but who knows how long it will work for

It is most likley that your cables are broken and you need new ones go to your local eb games and pick them up for 20.00$ are unplug you a/v cable from the tv and the xbox for 10secs then plug it back in and try again if that does not work buy new cables also got to xbox.com for trouble shooting tips.
