What e-mail software are you using?

Microsoft Outlook stores your addresses in a file called Outlook.pst.

The file should be hidden. You can find it (assuming you are using Outlook or Outlook Express) as follows:

    - right click on "Outlook Today" in left hand "folder list" (may not be showing).

    - left click on "Properties for..." (last item in the list)

    - click on the "Advanced" button.

The file path (also has the file name) will be shown. For example...mine is "C:\Documents and Settings\Owner.Kims-CX26\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst"

Yours will probably be the same except that instead of "Kims-CX26" it will be whatever you named your computer on the network.

You can do a search for "outlook.pst" but you must tell the search to "look in hidden files".

Once you have found it then you can move this file (drop and drag) it to the Flash Drive icon on your desktop.

How to install a USB flash drive

Just plug your USB flash drive into the USB port of your computer or other USB-equipped device and drag the files you want to take with you into the folder that appears on your screen. Your files are instantly transferred to your USB flash drive. To transfer the items on your USB flash drive onto another computer, simply plug your USB flash drive into the computer that you want the files transferred to, open the folder that appears on your screen, and drag the desired files onto the computer's desktop.

1.) Insert Flash Drive into the USB Port of your computer.

-Where is my USB port? It is usually found in newer model computers in a hidden compartment on the front of the hard drive and in the back of the hard drive on older computers. The port for laptops is found on the side or back of the computer.

2.) Wait for the hardware to automatically install on your computer.

After the hardware is installed, it is ready to use!

3.) In most cases, an Options Window will automatically open. Select "Open folder to view files" Click "OK."

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE FLASH DRIVE CRUZER MICRO

This is a plug and play device so you just need to insert it into any spare USB port and your system will then see the device as a logical drive and will allocate a letter to it so you can transfer files to it. Cruzer’s have a self loading app which will give you some other options and a manual. Just use it like you would any hard drive. Also you will need to use the Cruzer’s own Eject Tab when you want to remove it from your PC / Laptop.

SanDisk 2GB Cruzer Micro USB I/O device error

I would recommend plugging your Cruzer into another computer. It's possible that your computer has corrupted or incorrect drivers for the flash drive. This is one cause of the yellow alert in Device Manager. If you move the flash drive to another machine and it works, you can save your data and make a backup copy. If your Cruzer doesn't work in a different computer (I would try at least 2 other working computers), it's possible that the flash drive is faulty.

1gb cruzer micro

This is caused by 1 of 2 problems:
  1. Your flash drive is corrupted in some way, forcing the computer to reformat it before you can use it.
  2. The flash drive was formatted for a specific device (like a piano) and was made only for that device.
  3. Your PC incorrectly recognized it
  4. You do not have the correct drivers installed.
If you have problem #4, you can go onto google and search "1 gb cruzer micro drivers".
If you have problem #3, try plugging your flash drive into a different USB port.
If you have problem #2 or #1 (Which it most likely is), then you should try or buy a software application such as PC Inspector, to recover those files. Then you may reformat the flash drive.

However, I found that sometimes, just restarting the computer, and inserting and re-inserting the flash drive sometimes does work. But that's not guaranteed.

Is the account that your tying to access the drive with an Administrator account? If not, Log in as Administrator and try to access the new drive. If you ARE using Administrator privileges on the vista machine, the problem lies in the U3 smart driver. Try downloading and installing the drivers for the XP SP2 os on scan disks website, If vista rejects the install package off of the scan disk website, let me know and i'll extract the drivers and build an install for them for you.
