I have a PLTV-26, 26" Ligquid Crystal Display. You can call me on 617-522-8828. The adapter is a very small part that is needed by the Cable TV connection to the TV.

I think already answered this but:

If on screen menu comes up hook up something to one of the rear av inputs and see if set works (have to move to that input with remote or input feature on front of set)

if picture etc that way tuner in set may be bad (look to see if coax fitting is loose or broken)

My rca has no picture the screen has a snowy picture is if it was on the wrong channel through my cable box.

More information would help. What are you running the signal into the TV with? Coax? Separate video/audio? To test the set if you have a vcr hooked up or available to hook up, input it into the tuner input and play a tape. Set the tv to either channel 3 or 4 (whichever channel the output of the vcr is set for, this can be determined by checking the menu or a switch on the back if it is an older vcr). If your TV is ok you should be able to see the tape which is playing. If not, and you still have snow you probably need a new tuner in the set. Let me know if you need more help.

I have plenty of old TV's that have a standard cable input, but no AV input (The white and yellow plugs that modern TV's have). Do they make a converter that turns the yellow and white AV plugs into a...

these are not cross compatible an rca hook up is a base band signal basically raw data, and coax(cable line) is a frequency with a carrier best suggestion I have is to buy a vcr with a coax out put and rca input that way the vcr can pick up the video signal then remodulate it onto a channel frequency and send it to the tv

Tuner replacement on RCA D52W20

If you are comfortable doing some small repair work, you might be able to fix this with stuff you have laying around.

All you need is:
1 - 8" piece of coaxial cable with male connector on one end
1 - set of RCA cables (Red/White/Yellow)
1 - coaxial coupler
2 - small wire nuts

electrical tape

Take the back housing off of your TV. You may have to unscrew the small nut holding the threaded connector to the TV. This threaded connector should connect to the motherboard with a male RCA prong that should be soldered to the component on the motherboard. You will need to carefully cut
& remove the old soldering & wiggle the connector off. This is the hardest part, but it WILL come off with a little trying.

Now get your coax cable and strip off about 2" of the black outside housing ONLY. Your solid copper` interior cable should be protected by a small plastic coating which is covered in braided wire. You'll need to be careful not to cut the braiding off. Untangle the braiding down to where your cut stops and try and get it all on one side of the cable so you can twist it all together and make a nice wire. Now strip about an inch off of your interior plastic sheathing to reveal the small solid copper wire on the very inside.

Get your RCA cable and cut about 6" off of the one yellow side. Follow the same process above to get a braided sheathing wire and a solid copper wire. Attach this yellow wire to the coaxial cable by twisting the two braided wires together and the two solid copper wires together. Use your wire nuts & electrical tape to secure your connections making sure none of the wires can touch each other.

Connect the yellow cable's male prong into the component on the motherboard and attach your coaxial coupler to the male end of your coaxial cable. If you saved the small nut from earlier, you can re-attach this new coupler to the housing on your TV. Screw your housing back on the TV and you should be good to go.

Can the ac adapter be repaired or do I need to buy a new one for my Protron 32" LCD TV?

its better to buy a new one because you could short your tv and it would be very serious if that happened right now its not a serious problem. its more like a 60.00 problem from protron or maybe its under warrenty still. it doesnt hurt to check the rep might be cool and send it to you for free

I broke off coax cable on back of 32 inch tv. I can watch dvds with AV cables but not cable TV. How do I connect cable from wall to tv if coax is broken off

This depends on how many available inputs you have on the back of the set. If you have more available you can just hook up the cable box composit (yellow, red, and white cables) if not you will need to replace the rf connector or tuner in the set. let me know if you need more help.
