The port that you plugged the card reader into is only meant to be used with PictBridge compatible cameras. These cameras do all the processing and setup to send a print job to the printer. The printer does not have the capability to 'read' what's on a card through that port. It can only do this from the memory card slot.

Xd card wont fit into pixma mp610 needs adapter cant get one anywhere

You can use a USB multiple card reader to see your xd card instead of using your printer slot

Just plug the card reader to your USB port of your computer.
Then select the pic in your computer and print.

You can get one here at very reasonable price (4.55)

Canon pixma ip6600d omitting black ink

Many printers use color to make black, you may have to FORCE it to use the black ink cartridge for black or turn off something that is telling the printer to use the color cartridges for the black.

That's my educated guess anyway...

I do know that some printers do this, so I'm assuming this is what is giving you trouble. I don't know why it would print any different on a memory card than from the computer though...

Canon PIXMA iP6600D

Canon PIXMA:
Inkjet liquid has to dry up. Does not matter if you leave it in or out, or try to repackage it.
If it was laser jet which infact uses powder like material would stay intact for long.
Hope that helped.

Canon printer error 5b00, Absorbers full.

Check your power supply lines are clear and in good condition. Also make sure every plug point is well graounded beacuse this may interfere with any electric/electronic device and cause it to malfuction. Check your USB ports for physical damage. The errors you see may be accidental.
