Question about Sony KV-32V16 TV

Picture goes off and on...

I have a Sony KV-32V16. When i turn on, it takes about 30 secs. for the picture to appear, though sound is perfect. Then the pictures starts going off and on, off and on for about first 15 mins while the sound is fine. After about 15 mins, the frequency of going off on on the picture decreases and ultimately it becomes all good.
Appreciate for your suggestions, and solution.

I had the same exact problem with the same model ...started last fall. I thought it was the cable box at first because the sound was perfect but it did it with a dvd also. It got progressively worse until it was like watching a strobe light. It was the holidays and I brought our bedroom set down and took it to a nearby repairman. He explained what it was which was the tube going bad and that Sony had designed it to blink like that where many will just give out. He made some adjustments to it but couldn't promise anything... "might last a couple days , a couple weeks or a couple months. It might even last a couple of years". The charge was $90 and the fix has lasted tiill this week and 2 days ago it has started again. The tube is no longer available and even finding a salvaged one was a long shot and would run a couple hundred bucks. I am thankful I didn't have a new tv to shell out for at christmas but sort of wish I had put that $90 toward a new tv. Hope this helps...Good luck.

Most likely your Cathode Ray Tube or CRT is going bad. That model number reflects an older TV. What you are describing is a fairly common problem for that television. If you bump the TV and it improves or gets worse then you know there may be a short.. Either way, I would recommend that you use our Premium Service or use our online resources to find a repair person near you. Good luck.

Video Labels stay on - Sony TV Model KV-32V16

Press Display / ' i ' button TV original remote and on-screen display will disappear.
I repeat, you need Sony TV original remote to do so, universal remotes do not have such button.

Delay to see the picture

Your power supply is going south, I have an old sony with the same problem. The voltage level drops and does not have enough 'kick' to start. It will work better when it is warm. The module will need to be replaced.

Sony KV-32FV15 TY

I have had my Sony KV-32FV15 for about 2 years now and nothing has ever gone wrong(even going through several moves.) I recently moved again and when I plugged in the TV, you can hear the sound perfectly but the screen just stays black. You can not even hear the squeal that the TV makes when comming on. Is there anything that I should initially look at to troubleshoot. I cannot afford at this time the $250 fee to repair my TV. I look forward to your input and hopefully I can get this TV working again.

No picture, sound and/or stanby indicator light...dead!

Loss of low voltage supply has happened. This regulates the ability of the set to sense the remote as well as the front panel switches. Could be anything from open T1 secondary to a regulation problem; i.e. excess drop from defective component....accordianman

video card went out in the tv. You are saying you need a schematic. Be real careful getting into tvs. They have very large capacitating capacitators in them that can electrocute you. You need to take it to a repair specialist and have them run a check on it. Sounds like the video card to me though.
