Question about Philips 26PF5521D 26 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

Sound fading away

TV developed a buzzing at high volumn. Problem became worse over weeks, so now there is no sound at all. Sometimes low volumn operates whentv is first turned on, deterierating to silence within an hour or so. I do not think the problem is the speakers themselves.  Your thoughts?

I would not think the speakers are defective but rather faulty capacitors in the power supply circuitry if the TV works good for some time.

The lcd tv (lg 42LG5000) which is now about 15 months old has developed a fault which is intermittent some times when first switched on sometimes after half an hour an hour the left side of the screen...

The backlight inverter is dropping out, on the older lgs the backlight inverter is separate from the power supply, if this is the case you can only obtain it with a new panel.

otherwise the newer lgs have the inverter built on the power supply.
in this case you can replace the entire power board.

My tv makes a low humming buzzing sound about 3/4 of the time. One quarter of the time it does not buzz. When it buzzes a line moves fairly slowly from the bottom of the screen up to the top continually....

there is a bad or what i call intermittant connection on the power supply board. when the bar and hum appears try firmly bumping with the palm of your hand the side of the set. if the hum and line go away then your set will have to go into the tv shop and the connectors on the p/s mod have to be reseated also the solder connections should be checked... this should help you a lot.

Buzzing sound after only 2-1/2 years of service

I suspect you have a bad set of capacitors in the control module. This problem usually starts out as a high pitched noise but can lead to the TV not turning on. Please see the link below, posted by StivO. It gives step by step instructions on how to replace the capacitors. This is a very inexpensive fix.

It sounds like feed back issues or maybe your rca plugs are plugged into wrong inputs it should be connected to audio output on tv and ensure the same color plug in connected to both the ins and outs on tv and audio receiver.

Problems with sound that buzz/vibration sound My brand new Toshiba 40 LCD has similar occasional buzz/ vibration coming from inside TV

Same problem with my new Toshiba 55" LCD.
Also, after being on for awhile, the sound suddenly gets distorted in a fuzzy, echoie kind of way. Switching to a non-digital channel and switching back seems to make that correct itself. I may try a new HDMI cable to see if the problem goes away. Any other ideas?

Verticle lines on screen

This is a very easy fix. Your cable box is not grounded correctly. To fix this you need a AC Plug adapter. This will change your TV ac plug from a 3 wire to a 2 wire. This may sound funny, but trust me on this. I have fix a lot of TV in NY doing just this.24001fc.jpg
