Question about Nokia N73 Cellular Phone

Image and Video Problem in Nokia N73 Music Edition.

I purchased the hugely popular product of Nokia (N73 Music Edition) on 28th May 2008 bearing Product Code No. 0543843 and IMEI No. 358973017106960. But to my utter disappointment I have noticed that the recorded video files do not run smoothly when played but run with jerks. This complaint was forwarded to Nokia when I had N73 General Edition, purchased on 8th Jan 2008 bearing IMEI No. 358974011474214. This is a long story and its details can be obtained from my Nokia Complaint No. 2-31XVKD.

It is useless to approach the Nokia Care Centre here as they failed to find a solution to the said problem earlier saying that the problem exists in all the said models of Nokia.

Having gathered information from the Internet, I downloaded the Nokia Software Updater and upgraded the Software Version of my phone on 18th June 2008. The latest software version is V4.0750.31.2.1 RM-133 against the erstwhile version: V4.0736.3.2.1 RM-133.

But unfortunately I have observed a new problem in my phone. The snaps taken through the image camera mode appear darker than before and a very light greenish tint with a snowy surface film turns up on the resulting image. This problem goes over the head of the so called Nokia Hardware Engineers here.

Now I would like to ask you whether such faults exist in Nokia N73 Phones or is it because of a weaker and slower processor or is it a fault of the hardware and software ? Please help me find a solution to this. I would like to mention here that no such problem exists in my brother's N72.

    Thanks for the solution. But I forgot to mention an important point in my previous letter. Being unable to find a solution, I formatted the memory card thinking that it might solve the problem. Instead it deleted some of the preinstalled application softwares like Suduko, Nokia's Gallery (for GPRS), etc. (not Gallery of the Menu).

    Do I have to remove the memory card before reinstalling factory settings ? How can I restore them ? Shall I proceed with your solution for factory resetting ? Will that reinstall everything that got deleted from my 2GB miniSD memory card ?

    I am in possession of Nokia N73 music edition phone bearing IMEI: 358973017106960. Few months back I formatted my memory card and since then my phone has been showing a problem every time I switch it on. It fails to install the following files from the memory card and displays "unable to install the corrupted files". The files shown in the Application Manager are: 200008b1.sis, 20000c10.sis and 20001681.sis. The matter was intimated to the Nokia Care here in Dibrugarh, Assam. But they are helpless regarding the matter. Can you help me solve my problem, please?]

Reset the phone to default using the method that dofsqaa stated above. Turn off your phone. Hold the following keys WHILE it's turning back on: (* + 3 + green key). Don't let go till it asks you about your location. I had the same problem with my n73.

You can hard reset the phone (Factory Settings - Reinstall)

Switch the phone "OFF"
Hold "3" (button) + "Green Call" (button) + "*" (star button)
Switch the phone "ON" while holding the above three buttons.
Continue holding for about 20 seconds then let go.

Please note this will format all the saved information stored in phone memory.

    No this does not delete or restore anything stored in memory card, only phone memeory.

    I sorry but I do not think you will be able to restore the memory card, unless you find someone with the same phone and copy the data stored on someone else memory card into yours.

    Hope this information helps.

I also have a Nokia n73, when I am playing videos they run run smoothly I have no problems with it, I don't know why yours is doing that but I might be able to help.

To format phone memory:
Follow the instructions above, (hold 3,green etc)

To format memery card:
Menu -> Tools -> Memery -> Options -> Format mem. card

To restore factory default settings:
Menu -> Applications/Tools (Can't remember which one) -> Settings -> Phone -> General -> Orig. phone settings.

I hope I have helped you, if I haven't o'well.

Please email me back the results (mbutton8@bigpond.com).

Nokia N73 software

Hello =)
You should head over to http://www.nokia.com/in-en/support/product-archive/?action=productArchive&tid=1845182&searchTerm=Nokia+N73 . Look for the "Support Downloads" text, right under it you should see "Nokia Suite.EXE". Click on it and download it.

Hope this helps! :)

Nokia n73 music edition total raset

u can do dat by typing in *#7370# on ur N73 Music Edition but hey dont forget to back up all ur data in the phone memory like CONTACTS,USER SETTINGS,MESSAGES AND THEMES DAT UVE INSTALLED in the PHONE memory.nothing will happen to ur memory card.u can back up ur data by using the pc suite with cable (thru bluetooth it will take lotta time) by entering this code ull be doing a HARD RESET of ur fone i.e back to factory settings.it'll ask u the confirmation and after that the fone will restart automatically and will ask u to set date time etc like u did when u purchased it.after that u can restore all ur data that u backed up using PC Suite.ive done dis a lotta times so its safe and gud.BUT DONT FORMAT UR MEMORY CARD EVER CUZ IT CONTAINS SOME FILES THAT U CANT RESTORE EVER.

N73

it can be done but, it will void your warranty as the process involves changing the product code of your phone. and then updating the firmware of your phone to that of a music edition's. the only danger is during the update process (as, if it is interrupted, it could crash your phone's operating system, after which you will have to reflash the phone)

you can find the video on youtube.
