I have a Dell Inspiron 530s. It is a year and a half old, and the motherboard is gone. I've been told Dell has had major problems with this motherboard, and that a class action lawsuit was brought against them. Was the 530s part of that lawsuit?

Cheaper to buy to new computer.

There might be a problem with your motherboard or the processor.

Remove the harddisk from the old PC and connect it to the new pc's motherboard as secondary harddisk then start transferring files to the primary harddisk of the new PC.

your motherboard has an video card? if it has an video card then try to check it maybe it is damaged or loose.. try to replace it with another vga card.. don't buy just borrow it to another pc. if u dont have any vga card check your memory or ram.. cheer

Try system restore if it works normally after this also turn system restore off and back on again as the problem could also lie in system restore information.

You've either got a bad motherboard or a bad processor (I'd lean to the motherboard being bad). I would honestly take this into a computer repair shop and have them check both.

Try charging the battery on one of the other dell's.
If the unit runs for any lengh of time, it is not the motherboard.
It could be the A/C adaptor jack on the side of the unit.
Log a complaint will dell's customer care.

my inspiron 530 giving me trouble. Blue light is on, but the computer goes no where. Try to start by shutting down and restarting but the start sound keeps coming fora long time and nothing happens. So to say having trouble starting and sometimes it shuts down but the blue light stays on. Sometimes I cann't even turn off the computer by pressing blue light - trouble trouble trouble
