Question about Thomson DVD & Blu-Ray Players

All previous recordings do not seem to be there although they are still on the viewing list, todays recordings are showing. If I go onto the library the whole box freezes can only be solved by switching of at main supply. All other menu functions are working.

Hello, I hope you are having a good day today.

In finding a solution I would like to know the model number of your Thompson product.

In the mean time, most DVRs have a hard drive. Recordings will stay on the hard drive. If you want the recording saved onto your DVD then you need to choose the record option from you menu.

Please let me know if this helps. And give us the model # if you can. Thanks

Good luck.

There are only a few explanations for this problem. First, the "card" used may be faulty. Having a faulty card has caused this sort of problem according to other user complains. Second, your hard drive can be faulty. It works just like a computer. If you have a "bad sector" on the hard drive you can experience this kind of problem.

There could be other problems beyond my experience. I would recommend you to use our premium service or other research source located at fixya.com.

Thank you for your patience and good luck.

This error e26 gets thrown up on some digital rights management programs.this really just means you are not allowed to record...ever increasingly thanks to the big corps like sony drm carrier signals are put into some broadcasts to overcome copying infringements.there still is a way to do this with the right equipment.some tv channels get revenue from their advert counts so they put these signals in to ensure that you can only watch at broadcast or catchup on certain devices.what I can't figure out is I can record anything whilst it's being aired and still transfer to older equipment but not anything with latest ios and certainly not with sony recorders.

Why does my pvr keep freezing

Sorry can't help on this. Presumably you've switched off/on at mains and checked all connections secure. Would a factory reset help, see tips how to do on fixya, although not sure if you would lose library data.

For my jvc sr-dvm600 the record times for DVD for all record modes seem to be set to just minutes instead of hours. How do I adjust those. The DVD recorder quits after just two minutes.

Your HD is full, I had the same problem, even if you think its empty or it shows empty the "library" record function is recording it to the library. to delete you have to be in dvd mode, not hd mode, press edit, hi-light and delete one at a time. to stop this in the future, just shut off library mode in the setup menu. I had deleted my hd in hd mode and them found out that everything was backed up in my recycly bin from day 1 and had to manually delete in dvd mode even though its not on the dvd, weird. figured it out tonight and I was going to send in for repair tomorrow. hope this helps

Can't get to recorded programs

Check and make sure you have the DVD Recorder hooked up to the TV. I think you have the Cable box or Satellite hooked up or else you could not record. So there is a second set of outputs on the back of your DVD Recorder, Buy a set of RCA jacks and plug them into the Yellow,White, Red Plugs of your DVD Recorder, Then plug the other end into your TV in either L1 or L2 inputs, whichever ones are free.

When deleting a film previously recorded on my Sony DVD recorder the amount of available space shows 650k as opposed to 800k despite the fact that I have no other recordings held. Can you explain why this...

Jim, Although you have deleted the recording the DVD recorder still sees that space as have been being used. The space should be reusable however the area has been used before (therefore not considered unused space).  By deleting the recording you should have no problem going over the area when it is needed.  Happy Recording Rob

TOSHIBA RDXV45KB

This is a disc read problem the discs recommended in the manual seem to be the only discs that will work on this machine.
I was getting the same error code everytime but the disc that i know does work is a Verbatim 16X DVD-R.
These discs work in all situations on my machine , dubbing and direct from TV.
