Canon pixma iP1000 is skipping random lines when printing

Sounds like it's congealed ink on the print head. You can buy cleaning kits and do it your self. Relatively in expensive compared to leaving it into the shop.

Problem with printing in black writing not clear and very faded.

It sounds like you need to run a printhead cleaning. The print head is what you put the ink cartridges into, it's responsible for placing ink directly to the page. If the some of the nozzles are clogged up, it can give you bad print quality. Without knowing the exact model of your printer, I can't tell you exactly where to find the menus needed to run the cleaning. Sometimes you can do this via the "maintenance" tab in the printers properties. If you need any further assistance, feel free to let me know.

Black and white not printing correctly, color is fine

If you are not using Epson ink, your printer will do this. Epson printers hate knock-off ink. Always use Epson ink if you want to keep your printer working properly. To solve the problem you are having, try cleaning the ink tubes. Make sure you re-install them properly. Hope this helps. Charlene

My ip90 Canon printer only prints in purple

Try selecting an option in the printing properties to print in grayscale or black and white (you usually only have either one or the other). This will utilise ONLY the black cartridge, the color will remain dormant which should make your prints come out in black and white - if not, your black cartridge, or the space between the bottom of the black cartridge and the paper is contaminated with color ink. Good luck!
