Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Which operating system ?

If windows 7 click start richt click on computer select properties then device manager scroll to your disk (hard drive) expand right click select update drive software

Every Seagate drive requires a few firmware updates during its lifetime.

Seagate firmware must be up-to-date to ensure that the product will run reliably.

Changing the firmware on a Seagate product to a more updated version will improve the product's performance.

Check the Seagate website often for any update available for your drive.

The firmware can be changed with just a few clicks of your mouse on the Seagate Web page.

Click the "Start" button on the bottom-left corner of the screen.

In the window that pops up, click " My computer " or just "Computer."

Another window will show up with an icon for your hard drive.

Right-click the hard drive icon and press the "Properties" option.

This will tell you what model your hard drive is.

For example, your hard drive might be ST31500341AS.

Open your Web browser. Type in www.seagate.com and press "Enter" on the keyboard.

Wait for the webpage to load.

Enter the word "Firmware" and your model number in the search box on the upper right hand corner of the webpage and press "Enter" on the keyboard.

Using the example from Step 1, type in "Firmware ST31500341AS".

Click on the first link that is returned in the search results.

Locate the firmware update. Double-click the update.

Press the "Download Firmware Update Utility" link to start downloading.

Click yes on any pop-up boxes that you may see.

Open the new firmware file by double clicking the file that you downloaded in Complete the installation by accepting all of the default questions that are asked during the installation process.

Hope this helps

Computer monitor is black with cursor in left upper corner and will not boot up

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error hope this helps

Hi, I have a medion laptop with no external connections. It wont boot and I just have a cursor in the top left hand corner. Cannot get it to boot no matter what bios options are set, is there any way out...

Install your software again this is why it is so important to save important stuff away from the main hard drive I hope that you did this? Just re-install operating system instead of trying to baffle yourself and figure it out. Time for a good cleaning.

I used this device once, on April 21.

1.Go to "file" on the drop down list at the upper left hand corner of the screen click "save" or "save as"
2. If you use the "save as" you will have to give it a title in the "save as ' title box. Save it to your drive (the flash drive) that you are working with.
I hope this helps. Have a great day!

In your bios you should be able to change your settings for the hdd. Make sure everything in bios matches your hdd & then save changes & reboot. Hopefully that will allow you to enter windows.
