I have a Canon PowerShot G9 digital camera and I can't figure out how to get the date to go onto the pictures. No matter what I try and how I follow the instructions, it doesn't seem to work.

Hey cphoto,
This camera does not have the ability to print the date onto the images themselves, but with every image all recorded data including the date and time should be able to be viewed with the software that came with the camera. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

Canon g9 just started getting card locked error. I checked, the card is not locked - also tried different cards. It works sometimes. Tried to reset the settings and received "busy" message.

Check the right strap lug and see if it is loose. It is a well know problem with the G9 that the screws that hold it onto the top cover come lose and fall into the camera, causing many different problems is they short out parts of the circuit

Want to know if my G9 has a date stamp option

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

My G9 will not save the time and date so it will not allow me past this screen to picture taking mode

There is a separate data/time cell(button cell) in cameras. Check if yours has one and get it replaced.
Mine goes past that screen when I press menu button(that acts like cancel button).

Hello..my canon g9 is reading 'no memory card' even when I have one in...and because of that, i cant take pictures or use any function of the camera...please help

Have you tried blowing air in the memory card part of the camera? Might be dirty! If that doesn't work, look for a repair shop, a popular one for the Canon Powershot cameras is camerasandparts.com since they only work on the powershots. They tend to be the place if you need help with one of these. They don't charge much at all and they do all the service on the camera too. Go to that site and you'll see they have your specific problem posted right there for your G9. Good luck with it.

I have had my G9 camera for a while and now the pictures are discolored-uneven colors. Some of the pictures are only half showing when downloaded to the computer. I thought it was a SD card problem so I...

Call Canon Repair. It seems that you may have a ccd problem.
This problem may be fixed by Canon for free.
They have a trade-in or trade-up program also.

Can I export photos from iPhoto back into the Canon G9 PowerShot?

No, you can't.
You only can transfer the pictures back to the camera if the pictures were taken by the same model cameras, plus the pictures were not modified.

How do I set up a Canon G9 to display date and time on image.

Press the "play" button to view your photos. Then, press the "display" button until the time/date show up.
If you want them to print out the time and date on the photos, you do this in the "Print Settings" menu. Just press the "menu" button, and then go to the second tab that looks like a printer, then scroll all the way down to "Print Settings..." Press the "Func/Set" button, and then scroll down to where it says "Date: On/Off". Use the directional buttons to select "On" or "Off" and then press teh "Menu" button again.
