My sony ericsson 580i shut down and will not turn back on. When I last checked it the phone indicated half battery. And I did not get it wet. I tried to take the sim card out and put it back in already. Do you have any advice on this or have you heard of this happening before?
I have the same problem. I shut the phone off and now it won't come back on...?

Hi This is due to Strip Problem...If the Strip life expires it will create issues like Display goes White and it turns Off itself...It may show Lines on the screen..Keys may not work proper. Its completely Hardware issue. you have to change Strip of the Cellphone.
the firmware is corrupted. flash the phone (sometimes called debranding) I use www.totalgsm.org not the cheapest but good support. follow the instructions to the letter takes about 10mins to do. see my other posts for more detail. will cost 10euros lots cheaper than getting it done by a shop & that is what they'll do anyway. use generic firmware rather than operator branded firmware. it will run better, & none of those nasty logos. furthermore any function that has been disabled by your operator will be restored (like switching off 3G or **** that you cant erase)after you've done this send MMS & Internet settings using SE website to complete the process. this can be done for free on www.topsony.com BUT you have to put at least 20 posts on their forum so if time is an issue, dont bother. total gsm is an easier way if you've never done fone flashing before.
First need to find the IMEI for your phone. Power on phone
and type *#06# this will display the IMEI. You will need the IMEI to get the corresponding unlock code. Every phone has a different unlock code. Then call your provider and request the unlock code.
