Re: BLACK AND WHITE PCITURE ONLY WHILE SETTING UP MY TV...
Hello. What I hear you saying is that you have a TV out cable that only produces black and white on your television. That sound very frustrating.
I assume that means you know the TV works in colour if used for local channels. First, try replacing the cables connecting to the TV out connector. Second, make sure the device with the TV out connection is functioning well. One way to test this is by using another device to check and see if the problem persists with multiple devices. If you find colour from the alternate device, then the problem was in the receiving device. If the problem persists, please consider using our premium services or using our online resources to find a repair person near you. Good luck.

I have the same problem too. Need a fix. This tv isnt that old and is not used that much. does not seem to be the cables or cable box. the menu has color to it but the channel picture is in black and white, flickers a bit, and seems to be in a very large pixle form. it this able to be fixed? Please Help.
If the cable was an SVideo, it's possible you might have a broken pin. Losing one of the 4 pins would still give you a picture but it would be in Black and White. Check both ends of the cable and if one is missing, get another SVideo cable.
How is everything cabled? Is this over the air or using composite cables (yellow/red/white). Sometimes this will happen when you plug a component cable into a composite connection or vis versa. If it's over the air signal or cable tv, check and see if the on screen menu for the tv is also in B&W. If the menu is B&W, it could something else.
Are the yellow, red & white cables RCA phono plugs?
Yellow = Video
Red = Right Audio
White = Left Audio (mono)
The red, blue & green cables are for picture only and don't include sound. Have you tried using the red, blue & green for the picture and using the other cable, red & white for just the sound? Don't use the yellow.
sounds like you are using componant cables.[ red,blue,green on the right side in back of the cable box for the picture, & red & white cables for the sound.] make sure the red & white cables are connected to the middle white & red outputs of the cable box to the tv's red & white inputs, not outputs. hope this helps.
It sounds like your cables are connceted ok, but what you neede to do is to be able the switch from one video mode to the other so lets go through the cable and vrc conncetions again just to make sure.
From your cable set top box connect your component video (RGB) video out to your TV (RGB) video in via the (RGB)cables.
From your VCR connect your composite video (yellow) out to your TV composite video in withe the composite video (yellow) cable.
From your VCR (Left & Right audio out)connect your left and right audio connections (White and Red) to the Audio in of the TV (Left and Right).
Whith this setup you should be able to use the TV to switch between the two A/V inputs using the remote control.
