It made a scratching noise and scratched my whole game disc

This is a common problem with the Xbox 360. If the console isn't completely level, or is moved while a disk is inside, chances are it will get scratched.

Xbox 360 problem with scratching disks

If your xbox is making that ring around your disc chances are you are playing your xbox standing up, if you lay the xbox down on its side this may fix the problem atleast it did for me. And as for the the midnight club freezing all the time it is still doing this on my xbox, copy the game to hard drive, and it should deffinitly limit the game from freezing, it worked for me.

Scratching disks on xbox 360

You may want to scour the web for this one as I know I have heard about this problem before from quite a few people. However, for those who have only experienced this on a disc or two it could result from moving the console while a disc is in the drive, even if the console is off.
