If you have installed a drive from another system, it probably has settings applicable to the system from which it was removed. The original system could well have had settings for a different audio chip and video resolution. You need to look at the device drivers for audio and video and make the changes needed so they apply to the laptop you have.

If your computer can be turned on this means that the button on / off there is a problem but if the contrary, create a test on your computer power supply box in a manner which was troubleshooting with the power supply box which is still functioning properly or even better one.(Problems on the motherboard can also cause your computer can not be turned on)
If you have to do some tests and the problem is not coming from your motherboard, I believe there is no problem for your computer is switched on and used as usual.

Harddisk doesn't appear in the list of intel
The computer is not getting pass the POST (power on self test) and therefore the hard disk information doesn't appear and the computer won't boot up.
The problem is with your RAM modules, your motherboard uses interleaved memory, it requires two identical RAM modules (a pair of RAM modules) to be inserted into the motherboard memory slots. These slots are color coded and the RAM modules MUST be inserted into the RAM slots with the same color.

It wont rocognise the hard disk but will pick up everything eslse
Change ide or sata cable.
Also change power cable of smps to harddisk.
Make sure your harddisk set as master with jumper settings.
Read jumper settings on harddisk then set harddisk as master.
Then check in bios.
Change ide or sata ports on motherbord then check.

How much Hard disk my motherboard D845GVSR will support.
There's not really a limit to how big a harddisk you can support. The only thing that can restrict you is the connection, because, for obvious reasons, you can't connect a SATA disk to an old IDE board, but it seems like you're aware of that.

You can just buy any SATA HDD you want!

DISK BOOT FAILURE
The sata cable\bus that connect the hard disk with the motherboard get loosen up some times. that results in the disk boot failure. if you once remove the sata cable from the harddisk and motherboard and then fix it tightly you can get the system working properly again. if the problem again persist then bye a new sata cable and fix it by replacing the older one, Thank You!
