You have to take your camera in for repairs, I'm sorry.

here is one repair place
http://www.advancecamera.com/repair/

or look for another one or maybe a service center for your brand.

Let me know if you need anything else or have any other questions.

Thank you,
Ekse

Dear Sir,

This can happen if...
1.) If the battery dies when the camera lens is open (and you close it manually, or sometimes, even if you dont.)
2.) If you used a AC adapter with too much voltage or not enough. (this can happen even if you used the correct voltage, refrain from using AC adapters at all)
... all together its ethier a voltage or camera lens problem...

TIPS:
1.)NEVER PUSH THE LENS IN AFTER CAMERA DIES, BUY A NEW BATTERY IMMEDIATLY AND TURN IT BACK ON, CLOSING THE LENS!

2.)NEVER USE AN AC ADAPTER, USE A RECHARGEABLE BATTERY OR A REGULAR BATTERY!

..to fix this...

Do as i say..

1.) Remove battery
2.) Remove front plate (screw driver may be needed)
3.) Check all gears, make sure they are correctly fitted in place)
4.) Move the gear manually to make the lens come out.
5.) keep it out, put the front plate back together.
6.) reinsert the battery, turn it on.

or...
1.) Remove the battery.
2.) Wait about 6-8 hours.
3.) Reinsert the battery.

or...
1.) Remove the battery.
2.) Try hooking it up through AC adapter, put correct voltage.
3.) Try turning it on.
4.) Remove AC adapter, reinsert battery.
5.) Turn it on.

Hopefully all this information helped

Telescoping lens opens but the view finder continues to flash an orange light and I can not push the button and take a picture. I have ordered a new battery to see if that helps because the camera is used...

Before trying the new battery, try cleaning the battery compartment contacts with a cotton swab dampened, not drenched, in rubbing alcohol. Blow dry the compartment and then try the new battery. Thanks, Dana

I have dropped my friends camera (while it was on). It hit telescope first and got jammed is there anything I can do? It is an olympus stylus 760 7.1 All-Weather. It was purchased on ebay about 6 months...

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Don't want to get your hopes up too high, but here are some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for about 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

This is actually a repair issue with the flash charging indicator switch. It needs to be replaced as it has failed. You can call Olympus Customer Service to discuss their repair policy and preocedures. Their telephone number is 800-622-6372 option 2 and then option 3.

Shutter v soft

Are you talking about the sliding door that powers on the camera and covers the lens?
There is a metal plate with two screws on the bottom of the sliding door that holds the door to the camera, try tightening the screws and see if that helps. Or else see if the door is slightly bent out of shape, and try to bend it back if you can.
This is a common problem on the Stylus-300 camera, you can buy a replacement door from eBay -

Weatherproof

The Olympus Stylus 300/400 Digital is the first metal-bodied digital camera in the world to feature protection equivalent to IEC Standard publication 529 IPX4. The camera will not be damaged by water splashed from any direction. The camera can be used outside in adverse weather conditions. If you are taking pictures when the camera is exposed to rain or snow, make sure that the optical components (lens, viewfinder, flash) are not covered with water. Water droplets on the lens may affect image quality. The Stylus 300/400 Digital is designed to operate at ambient temperature 32°-104°F and relative humidity 30-90%. Please note that the camera is weatherproof, not waterproof, and can not be immersed in water.
