I was unable to transfer photos to the Olympus Master program, it would say "device not ready". So I accepted the update/upgrade for the camera, and then for the software, and now i can't even turn the camera on...the green light just flashes.

Re: Troubles Transferring, now power
You are describing a software and firmware update. The software update should not have any effect on the camera start-up, but the firmware update could. Please check to see if there were any instructions sent with the firmware files (like a Read Me file or release notes), which might give you special instructions for properly loading the firmware. Some manufacturers require that you hold down certain buttons on the device when power cycling to load the firmware. Also ALWAYS be sure to have newly charged batteries of the right type, because a power failure in the middle of a firmware upgrade can ruin a device, requiring service. Go to their web site to get details about the firmware update, if you are sure you did infact update firmware. Also, their tech support should be able to assist you with additional issues if their recent release is problematice for any reason. Good luck. DigiChick

try using a memory card reader that supports a xd card-very generic plug and play no software to load and computer should recogtnize card-if not open my computer and you will find new drive letters for card reader in there
I solved my problem by using the camera card in the scanner/copier and fron there transfer the picture to a file that way. Then I was able to burn them on to a CD. It did not solve my problem with Olympus Master and how to access a way to a file.
You have to buy the upgrade to Olympus Master 2, to be able to burn images to a disc. Olympus Master doesn't allow you to. I get around it by manually saving my images in an additional folder on my computer and then burn them to disc from there. It's a slow process and very inconvient. Good luck.
your memory card has a virus! try formatting using camera. make it a habit that whenever you reinsert the memory card in your camera format it first before taking shots, this will erase everything including virus! you may also try another memory card. Check also your pc, are you sure you didnt install any program recently? Some program installed may have conflict with another program like in your case.
