Question about Lexmark C912 Led Printer

Hi - I'm getting ink (one colour only) dropping away on the print and sometimes not going on at all. The problem is in the mag bay but I have tried mixing around the toners and photo devs - reagrdless of what colour ends up in the mag toner bay, that's where the problem stays. So if cyan is put where the mag should go the cyan starts dropping off or even stops.
We often get a service density error message which goes when you turn the printer off and on again. All toners are full.

It's almost as if there's not enough charge in the mag bay??? But I don't know anything about printers let alone complicated ones.

Lexmark support were great, up to the point where they were able to diagnose the problem but wouldn't let on exactly what was wrong with it or whether I could fix it.

Any help appreciated.

One of your print heads ahve failed ie printhead leds the but you uuslly find the printer lies so you may have to replace several of them

i have had a customer with the same problem we thought taking the colour cartridge out would set the printer to black only not even setting the settings in the printer menu worked i later found out from lexmark that the printer will not work unless both carts are in the cradle and contain ink. ... clever way to get you to buy a new cart right away

Lexmark C912 not reporting toner properly

print the status page make sure the revision level in the lower right corner is greater than 803.04 if its not go to lexmark to update the code if it is greater than. press the right arrow until reset toner Lvl appears in the display press select. use the right arrow to scroll through the colors to be reset. when you get tot the color you want to reset hit select it should give a brief message resseting toner then move to the next one. when finished you will need to power the machine down and back on again before the changes will take effect.

demension is in inches, you need to convert it to centermeter.

replace the rip baord if the firmware download failed ie flashing firmware eprom has fialed

980 error code is internal printer error. This is beyond users capability.
turn off the printer and check all cable connections.
turn on the printer, you need to call lexmark service, if the error return.

just take out the colour cartridge from the printer, then you will be able to print.

change your magenta led it sounds like that may be faulty big job if not theat then its a new rip baord which is under the cover
