Make sure that your computer is wifi capable. then if you read through your routers owner manual it should help you setup a wireless network

I have a hp pavilion 515n desktop computer and was wondering how to get the password for the wifi.

Hi Ettajean,

The wireless password can be located either on the wireless router itself (if it's being provided to you by your ISP), or you'll need to log into your router to view/change your wireless password.

If you've connected to the wireless router before and simply need to recall the password, you can view it inside of Windows:

If you can post the model number of your router, I can provide you with some additional direction.

Hope this helps!

I have several wireless electronics like a wii, xbox, ipod touches and blue rays i was wondering what wireless router do i need to run most of these thing without slowing down my connection all the time

The connectivity speed of the router depends on the range of the device u are using.
Go for a router which supports more wireless range.
The internet speed depends on your internet connection if all the devices are in range.

Can the HP Pavilion 763n PC Desktop use a wireless router?

Your computer has a "built-in" 10/100BT network connection integrated on the motherboard but to go wireless you'll have to add either a PCI (internal) or USB (external) wireless network adapter to transmit/receive the signal from your wireless router. Think "walkie-talkie" here with the wireless router installed AFTER the modem (phone line outlet needed) located in a central area of your home and transmitting/receiving to the individual wireless network adapters that must be separately installed in each computer.

Desktop wont connect to internet but laptop will

Is your cable modem also a wireless router?

From my search on it, it is not a wireless router.

This means you need to attach a hub or a wireless router to your cable modem so that more than one computer can connect to the internet simultaneously.

Go out and buy a wireless router. Connect the wireless router to your cable modem.

Connect your desktop to the wireless router with an ethernet cable.

Then you should have internet on your desktop.

Let me know if this helps. Give me a good rating and vote for me please.

Hp internet problem

You may need to look at your router and wireless gadgets, instead of your computer. Is your router high up in the room and giving a strong signal to the computer? If not, get a bridge to repeat the signal. Do you have a cordless phone or other device that is causing interference? Is someone borrowing your router signal in a way that causes your signal issues (what encryption do you have enabled)?. Some routers just lose their connection and need to be rebooted regularly. In some cases, the easiest solution is just to go to a wired network and not deal with the problem at all.

Wireless Connection Problem

The wireless card didn't get a IP address from the router when it booted up.
Right click on the wireless icon and then click on Repair.
This will force the wireless card to get a new IP address from the wireless router.

Laptop Cannot Find Home Wireless Network

Try logging into the router with your desktop hard-wired and find the 25-digit passcode and use that to log on to the wireless network with the laptop. If not, then check if connection is good by hard-wiring the router to the laptop. Let me know what happens or if you have solved the problem.

My built in wireless is not working.

There may be button that switches on wireless on the keyboard or on the side of the machine.

Also try the FN key plus the correct Fkey with the wireless symbol
