Bosch SGVV53E03GB/55 cannot get panel door off

The furniture door handle attached to the dishwasher has had its handle broken and we need to take it off to replace. Have undone the two screws into the wooden door, and removed the adjusting screws from the side (not sure if this was necessary but they have gone back in afterwards) but door will not budge. Are these all the fixings all we need to remove, and how do you best advise removing the door from its slots, it just wont budge for us.

Remove grey plastic screw covers from each side of the door and unscrew the exposed 2 inch screws. Open door fully. Looking from above there are 10 screw heads visable. Counting from the right hinge and going clockwise, remove two inch srews going into the wooden outer door at positions 2,4,7 and 9

Ther are 2 long (2.5") screws on the left and right side of the door T20.
The front just pulls away towards you and then you have to lift the door up to release from the bottom catch.
I installed the Dishwasher my self and I did not attach the door with any stickey tapes.

I have an SGV53E23 so don't know if this will help. My door is screwed but also held in place by 2 double sided sticky pads about half way down. They stick like the proverbial so try easing the door off one side at a time and look down to see if you can see any sticky pads. If so firm but gentle easing will get the baby off.

Can I replace the door handle on my dishwasher?

  • i think you can but the only way to be 100% sure is by separating the inner part of the door from the outer. to do this remove the screwsalong the sides and rop of inner panel of the door leave the two screws securing the latch in place. as you remove the screws you will need to support the outer portion of the door, i do this by standing in front of the machine and with the door partially open and againdt my knees while reaching in and removing the screws this help to keep the two halves of the door sandwiched together untill all screws are removed at witch point th e door can be closed and the outer part of the door carefully separated enough to check for any wiring that may be attached to the door and or control panel. I recommend having someone to help you with holding the door together.

Loose door handle

Here is the link to the installation manual; pages 14 and 9 of the manual (16 and 11 of the pdf) describe how to remove the toe panel, and the door facia panel. You should then be able to access where the handle is attached. Hope this helps :)

How do I remove the control panel safely?

Turn off power to the dishwasher at the circuit breaker panel.

Open the dishwasher door and start taking out the screws along the inside perimeter of the door. The door should then start coming apart for you.

If I remember this model correctly, it has a false front that can be removed (once you have removed the long screws holding it), by lifting up on the handle attached to the false front and pulling up and towards you.

Remember which screws go where, because I seem to recall that this unit has different sized screws.

Good luck!

Fault E:06 with bosch dishwasher

E06Door switch fault

This fault code will usually do what it says and be telling you that the door switch, the one used to tell if the door is closed and the lock engaged, is faulty. However, this series of Bosch dishwashers also do get the handles broken from time to time and this could be a cause, you can find a commonly used door handle here.

I have a Bosch dishwasher that now doesn't easily open. The handle mechanism seems to be breaking. Can feel a plastic strip poking out from under the handle.

This is a child safety latch. It opens the door when slid to the right.
It can be reset to off by sliding it to the right and inserting a tooth pick into the small hole under the handle. It is hard to see and do! Get on the floor and look up.
It will stay over to the right when you are done.
If the plastic face panel is broken or cracked it will need to be replaced 8>(

How do I tighten the door handle on my Bosch dishwasher model SHY56A 05UC/14?

Remove front panel then you can access the handle screws. Open the door and remove the 'torx' screws surrounding the perimeter of the door.

Bosch Dishwasher

Hi ED, It sounds like a real problem here. If the springs are still in one piece, my best guess is to to remove the springs from the door. Then attach the springs to the dishwasher body first, then reattach the spring to the door. Not an easy job, good luck. If you have further problems check with, as the repairguru there may be of more help.
